Feedback on my shortlist

Looking for help with a girls name. I’ve got a pretty common last name so definitiely looking for something a little less common in the first. We are avid travelers so drawn a bit towards geographic based names (but not exclusively).

Intersted in getting feedback on our current short-list…

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite us [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]! It’s so pretty and exotic. Yet it’s not weird and still sounds like a name. It sounds great with your surname, and stands out nicely from some of the more common options.

[name_m]Berlin[/name_m] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - This is very different but I like it!
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - Cute name but I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] Board would be brought up too much. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] as an option?
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - Pretty name but too common. Good middle
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - This used to be my future girls name. I love it.
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - I only think of sausages so it is out for me.
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - Too boring.
[name_u]London[/name_u] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - Very cute!
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - Pretty!
Xianne [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - I’m not even sure how to pronounce this so I vote no.
[name_f]Alisa[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] - I have a friend with this name and I can’t tell you how many people pronounce this wrong or spell it wrong. [name_m]Daily[/name_m]…

I love love love [name_m]Berlin[/name_m]. Would you use [name_f]Lin[/name_f]/ [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] for a nn? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any thoughts on middle names? I would go with something feminine like:

[name_m]Berlin[/name_m] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]
[name_m]Berlin[/name_m] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]
[name_m]Berlin[/name_m] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]
[name_m]Berlin[/name_m] [name_f]Christine[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is my favorite! So gorgeous. Second favorite is [name_u]Emery[/name_u].

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is beautiful! I also love [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Alisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] ([name_f]Aria[/name_f] is one of my favorites!).

If you are avid travellers, I would advise you to stay away from place names as first name. If you went to [name_f]Austria[/name_f] with a girl named [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] or to [name_f]England[/name_f]'s capital with a daughter named [name_u]London[/name_u], you may get some strange looks. If you went to [name_f]China[/name_f] with a Xianne, it may not look good in Xian. Many areas of the world don’t understand the place name trend. [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_m]Berlin[/name_m], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_u]London[/name_u] and Xian have some personal significance for you? If so, I would use them in the middle spot. I like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] the best from your list but they’re more common than the other choices. There are variations of these names like [name_f]Alexandrine[/name_f] ([name_m]French[/name_m]) and [name_f]Alexina[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Liana[/name_f] that would be a little more unusual with your surname.

I’ve considered the potential awkwardness, but not convinced we’re willing to let that completely detour us. For the couple times they may travel through [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_u]London[/name_u], [name_m]Berlin[/name_m], or [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] in their life i don’t know that’s enough to strike off my list. It’s a consideration though for sure.

Xianne is a little different as my wife is Chinese so the number of times she’ll go to [name_f]China[/name_f], it may be a little strange which is putting it a little lower on our list.

Another vote for [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]! Next choices would be [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
