Feeling so undecided

I feel like a compulsive poster, but I am still floundering with this name thing!! Finally hubby has said he likes one name, [name]Ari[/name], which was one of my top picks. You would think that would seal the deal but I guess it is such an unusual name that I am worried people will call him “[name]Air[/name]-E” or think he’s a girl. Any thoughts.
I also want to use ronan as the middle name…
I know [name]Ari[/name] might be okay on this board, but what about real life…?
Thanks!!!

I don’t think you will have a problem using [name]Ari[/name] in real life! I know quite a few [name]Ari[/name]'s and none of them complain that people pronounce their name wrong (they are all teen-adult)! I may also add, you probably know this, but the name [name]Ari[/name] is used a lot in the Jewish community. Each [name]Ari[/name] i know is Jewish, so just thought i would put that out there!

[name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] sounds really adorable, but i also may point out that it is kind of “r” heavy! But for some reason, that doesn’t really seem to bug me! If you are open to more suggestions though, how about using these Irish names :
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Breccan[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Callahan[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Cormac[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Keenan[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Lennon[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Lochlan[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Seamus[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps!

I love both [name]Ari[/name] & [name]Ronan[/name]. I do think, [name]IRL[/name], [name]Ari[/name] on a boy might give you a few problems with people thinkinf it’s short for [name]Ariana[/name] or something. Depending on where you are, of course. If you’re Jewish or live in a large jewish community, I’d find it perfectly usable. Otherwise, I think it’s borderline. That being said, I do think it’s a fantastic name. [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] isn’t the best flow, but I do think that [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Ari[/name] is really nice. With [name]Ari[/name], I think that I would use a decidedly masculine, solid classic as a middle name. Something multi-syllabic, probably, too.

Some ideas:
[name]Ari[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Michael[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Simon[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]

I really like [name]Ari[/name]!! I don’t foresee problems with people pronouncing his name wrong. [name]Ari[/name] is a character on the HBO show Entourage, so people in the “real world” will know it… I think it’s a great name.

I don’t like [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name]. I, too, think it’s too “r” heavy. And, I agree you should go with a MN that’s more masculine and traditional. But that’s just me.

Stick with [name]Ari[/name]!!!

I also think [name]Ari[/name] is a wonderful name, but agree with the previous posters that it would be best paired with a decidedly masculine and traditional middle rather than [name]Ronan[/name].

Some suggestions:
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Reuben[/name] (this has the same R-heavy issues as [name]Ronan[/name], which I actually don’t see as a problem; I think if you like the sound of [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] then this might be a great choice for you because it has a similar sound but a stronger and more masculine feel.)

totally can see I need a better middle name. I love ronan but it is very close to my daughters name so I can’t use it as a first name so I was hoping for it as a middle.
But I am open to more middle name suggestions. Please keep them coming.

I really like [name]Ari[/name].
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Clive[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Caleb[/name]

I think [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] is a great name. ANd to me, [name]Ronan[/name] is masculine. I also know [name]Ari[/name]'s, and it works in real life.

[name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] is VERY handsome!!! <3

And I really don’t foresee people mispronouncing it. I mean, there will always be someone… My name is [name]Eliza[/name] and you would be surprised at how often I have to correct people. But there is always that one person, but [name]Ari[/name] is a common enough name where people know how it’s said, yet, not common where there will be 20 kids in his class with the same name.

Good luck!!

Seriously? That’s crazy, how can you not know how to say [name]Eliza[/name]? By the way, I love your name!

[name]Ari[/name] is such a cool name! It seems like a nickname to me, is it short for anything? I definitely do think it can stand on it’s own, though. I like the combo [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name], too.

I think that [name]Ari[/name] is a handsome name but I imagine it is in general only used by people of the Jewish faith.

My neighbor just named her son [name]Ari[/name]. I wasn’t a fan at 1st, but it is continually growing on me. It seemed to more like a nickname – Aristole, nn [name]Ari[/name]. But she loves the name and is so happy they took the risk. So I say do it! [name]Ari[/name] [name]Ronan[/name].

[name]Ari[/name] is usually a nn for [name]Ariel[/name].
