I dont know that it will ever truly make the transition to unisex land. Definitely not too popular in the foreseeable future either.
I can envision a little girl and even a teen with the name [name]Felix[/name], but I don’t know that it would work on a grown woman as much…
I also think [name]Cordelia[/name] is a bit too frilly to pair with it.

There were only 15 female [name]Felix[/name]'s born in 2012. It’s definitely NOT being anything close to a unisex name. It is a boys name.
I agree that if it must be used on a girl, [name]Felix[/name] would be best as a nickname for [name]Felicity[/name]. By the way, [name]Felix[/name] would be an awesome name as a brother to [name]Silas[/name].
I strongly dislike [name]Felicity[/name] so that is definitely not an option. I am also considering [name]Silas[/name] for a girl or boy, as with most of the names on my list.
I don’t think people understand that I’m not doing it to be trendy or to push buttons, I just like certain names and I generally like them for both genders. I like a name for it’s sound and vibe, the “genders” of names do not concern me.
Have you considered Filix? It’s (part of) the Latin name for ferns. You’d get the nature connection to [name]Rowan[/name] as well. Ooh, or [name]Salix[/name], Latin for willow!
I was re-reading some of the posts and thinking [name]Felicity[/name] didn’t feel right for you, at all.
I logged off for a couple of hours and kept toying with the idea of [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Felixa[/name].
Which I instantly fell in love with and so I had to come back and suggest it. (It’s now on my extended list).
While I quite like gender-bending nicknames, I am not a fan of using masculine given names for girls. A nickname is optional, a given name less so. When meeting a girl with a boys name it makes me think that the parents were disappointed to have a girl. It also sends a bit of an anti-feminist message, because tons of people might like [name]Felix[/name] or [name]Ryan[/name] or [name]James[/name] on a girl but no one wants to name a son [name]Felicity[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Anna[/name]…because a boy would be mocked for being too feminine, whereas it’s ok for a girl to be more masculine because on a whole, we as a society consider masculinity to be superior. That is a really sad message to be sending to both our daughters and our sons, in my opinion. I am certain that is not your intention at all, but it will still contribute to that message whether we want it to or not. I just can’t like boys names on girls until girls names are equally acceptable for boys, sorry. 
I do really like the suggestions of [name]Felixa[/name] and Filix, though! [name]Felix[/name] could be a cute nn for [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Alexis[/name] (or anything with an F and X in the combo, really). [name]Phoebe[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] have similar sounds and are not frilly at all. Or [name]Xanthe[/name] 
[name]Selah[/name] would be very nice as an alternative to [name]Silas[/name] on a girl and would sound great with [name]Rowan[/name]!

[name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Felix[/name], [name]Felix[/name] would always be assumed as a boy, and may resent that. But [name]Felixa[/name] is obviously female imo, so it’s a good fit.
The Latin adjective ‘felix’ is actually both the male and the female form of the word, so I see nothing wrong with a female [name]Felix[/name]. I personally prefer [name]Felicitas[/name] though.
To be perfectly honest, I’d find it ridiculous on a girl.
I think it’s a great unisex name. The alternatives aren’t great…I am a bit scarred by [name]Felicia[/name] because I had a good friend called [name]Felicia[/name] throughout school and (I’m so sorry, crudeness alert) in high school the boys all called her Felatio. It was devastating for her. [name]Felicity[/name] is too attached to the TV show for my generation plus a bit saccarine regardless. And for heaven’s sake [name]Felixa[/name] sounds made up in my opinion --why would [name]Felix[/name] be wrong but [name]Felixa[/name] be fine? That makes no sense.
[name]Felix[/name] is spunky, like [name]Alex[/name] or [name]Casey[/name]. It’s a great idea!
I don’t think there is any such thing as ‘too popular’ these days because people are being more and more creative with their naming choices. I do understand what you mean though, you want something unique! I love boy names on girls and in certain circumstances girl names for boys! Think greek/roman mythology names such as [name]Phaedra[/name], [name]Peaches[/name] Geldof’s son and [name]Artemis[/name] which is the name attributed to the godess of the moon. Naming a girl [name]Felix[/name], in my opinion, shakes away any stigma it might have because of its popularity. [name]Hilary[/name] is also a good option for a ‘happy’ girl name, but maybe that is because it is my name! 
I worked with a woman named [name]Felix[/name] today. Formally she’s [name]Felice[/name], but she says her Mexican family doesn’t register [name]Felice[/name] as a name, and has always called her [name]Felix[/name]. Not my thing, but I had to mention it to you. There is a female [name]Felix[/name] out there!
I’m surprised not to see more love for [name]Felicia[/name] here, I love [name]Felicia[/name] [name]Day[/name] and think that most nerdy people would appreciate it
I like it in theory, but growing up with a completely unisex name and being confused for a boy several times sort of ruins names crossing genders for me.
I like using [name]Felicity[/name] or [name]Felicia[/name] on papers and at school, but [name]Felix[/name] as a 100%-of-the-time nickname.
I grew up with a “boys name” and I was never picked on or given a hard time for it. I think times are changing and kids have more unusual names now, I don’t think picking on someone over their name is as common as it used to be.
I really dislike [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Felicia[/name], they would definitely not be options. Only [name]Felix[/name]. And as others have pointed out, [name]Felix[/name] is just Latin for happiness… there’s no gender assigned to it.
[name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] are lovely together.

Oh I watched that show and hated that a girl was named [name]Felix[/name]! There was also a girl named [name]Monty[/name]! For some reason I think that is okay. It really suited her, and it was probably a nickname and not her real name. [name]Felix[/name]'s parent’s probably didn’t realize that [name]Felix[/name] is a boy’s name!
