My father is very close to passing and I would like to honor him by using his middle name [name_u]James[/name_u] as an honor name for my child that is due in [name_u]August[/name_u]. I don’t yet know if it’s a boy or a girl, but a boy, it’s easy - [name_u]James[/name_u].
I’m thinking [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] for a girl. or I could just go with [name_u]James[/name_u] as well. The two first names I’m leaning toward are [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. I may add [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] as a second middle if I feel like it needs more femininity.
I don’t like [name_u]Jaime[/name_u] or [name_u]Jamie[/name_u], anyone got any other ideas?
There is [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Jana[/name_f]. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is a also a good choice.
If you’re thinking of [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], I’d just stick with [name_u]James[/name_u] depending on the flow. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] works well while [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] flows better. Single syllable names just sound better when paired with multi syllable names.
I don’t think there is any real need to ‘feminize’ a name just because it’s given to a girl. (Same goes for boys, no real need to make a name more masculine). If you’ve already decided you like the name [name_u]James[/name_u], why change it?
Oh I love [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]! I know of two girls whose middle names are [name_u]James[/name_u]!
If I remember correctly, [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] [name_m]Stewart[/name_m]'s middle name is [name_m]Jaymes[/name_m]. I don’t think it feminizes it so much as gives it a unique spelling, I suppose, but it’s something to consider.

Thanks for the suggestions. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is NMS. I’m definitely leaning toward [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] as I don’t think an honor name should need an explanation. I want it to be obvious it’s there because of my dad. That said, I have 8 more months to decide, so I’m sure I’ll go back and forth before deciding.
