Feminine Old Norse/Viking Names? Am I asking the impossible?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], thanks in advance for any suggestions! Husband and I are trying to find some names that would work as a middle for our daughter due in [name_f]September[/name_f]. We are already honoring his heritage with a Spanish first name and [name_m]French[/name_m] last name, so we’d like to throw in my Nordic heritage as well. The only problem we’ve come across is most female names are a bit… harsh sounding.

Currently the name that is number one on our list for her first name is [name_f]Rio[/name_f], with our last name being the [name_m]French[/name_m] word for life (pronounced just “V”).

The only name we’ve found for a middle that sounds pretty is [name_f]Freyja[/name_f], but I can’t seem to rid the connection of a childhood friend’s horse… I was also thinking [name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f], but it seems to clash with our last name.

Any suggestions?

I like the middle name Brynja.

[name_f]Brigitte[/name_f]
[name_f]Dagmar[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellisif[/name_f] - Scandinavian version of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
Ellisiv - Icelandic for of the name [name_f]Ellisif[/name_f]

I am also fan of Gersemi - daughter of goddess Freyja and it means treasure.
