Femme Fatale name?

Hey, i am writing a story about a young woman in the 1940’same (or '50s, not sure yet) looking for the perfect lover. She’s flimsy in her way of going about finding it, using men for their money and privileges. Often falling hard for someone only to catch sight of another and completely lose interest. This all sounds very intense and dissatisfying in a female lead, but she has positive qualities in contrast, for example: she has a lot of insight into people and often helps them with their problems, she’s a very giving and caring friend. Her one mission to find the love of her life has become her [name_m]Achilles[/name_m] heel after she loses the love of her life.
This is a tragic love story with similarities to The Great [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] and Wuthering Heights, with the same symbolic vibe.

Okau, it’s a month or two after first posting this and I am still no sure…

I think I have settle on Josephine nn Josie, which is what she will be primarily known as. Is this a name that would suit the description of this character? A name for the perfect 10 with a mind that is beyond confused and disturbed from childhood?

I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. You could do [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and she could go by [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], any nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Carole[/name_f]

Personally, I don’t like [name_f]Florence[/name_f]; but this name seems appropriate for your character. [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Flor[/name_f], [name_f]Flower[/name_f] as nn.
Faves: [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] ([name_f]Lucy[/name_f]), [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] ([name_f]Lory[/name_f]).

It’s hard to tell, really. What tone are you going for? Is it a tragedy or a comedy, for instance? For some stories, more “charactery” names may be in order (so for a femme fatale, a sexy name); for others, more understated, mundane ones are more appropriate.

I dunno, but I immediately think of [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_m]Adler[/name_m] from [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] [name_m]Holmes[/name_m]. So [name_f]Irene[/name_f]?

Good luck!

I REALLY [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name Anginette. So beautiful and unique. I’m a young aspiring writer, interested in most genres. I looked at your thread and liked your idea for a story. [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t looked it up yet, but I’m going to once I have a chance (tangled in my writing, lol, I’m sure you know about that). Anyway, send me a nameberry friend request, I’m interested in staying in touch and discussing being a writer. P.s. you can self publish on [name_f]Kindle[/name_f] for free and make your novel available to the world within 24 hours. You get the royalties and it’s all legit. [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t looked into watpad (is that it?) Before, so I’m guessing it’s just a site for sharing stories and not yet publishing them. Really cool tho, look into it! That’s how I plan on publishing. And if you later on want to go to a big publishing house that’s an option, self publishing through [name_f]Kindle[/name_f] doesn’t stop your chances in that department. You can set your own price and everything.

It’s not comedic, it’s most similar to, I’d say the great gatsby which I don’t really remember being very funny. And maybe even Far From the Madding Crowd. It’s a philosophical drama, possibly with a little satire as well, I don’t think it’ll be very lighthearted a read.

I’ve begun to consider [name_u]Josie[/name_u], for her name. Does that work?

You could always do [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] nn [name_f]Viv[/name_f], [name_f]Adriana[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Irene[/name_f] if one of those names works for you.
