I saw that a user, Mermuse, had mentioned the combo [name]Fern[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name], and I have to say I love it! It just so happens that [name]Geraldine[/name] is a family name, and I’ve always like [name]Fern[/name].
Hmm, it’s kind of a lot, you know? [name]Both[/name] are rather square names on their own, and even squarer when put together. [name]Both[/name] are cute on their own maybe paired with something fresher and more conventionally beautiful.
I [name]LOVE[/name] both names but not together as the f[name]ERn[/name] gERaldine thing feels repetitive and if they had to be paired together I think [name]Geraldine[/name] [name]Fern[/name] flows better…maybe cause the double ER are further apart?.
I love the idea of [name]Fern[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name] or [name]Fern[/name] [name]Diana[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name] or [name]Fern[/name] [name]Ines[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name] ect…I could go on for days
[name]Just[/name] something short & different between them helps the flow, keeps sweet [name]Fern[/name] in the fn spot & really changes up the names image imo.
I like [name]Fern[/name] because my grandmother’s name is [name]Fernande[/name]. [name]Geraldine[/name] is a little too heavy to go with it though.
I would do something feminine and classic with [name]Fern[/name]. Something like [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name] etc.
I don’t mind [name]Geraldine[/name], but I don’t really like the name [name]Fern[/name] at all. It sounds kind of dowdy, and they’re not very attractive plants (imo).
I’ve contemplated [name]Erica[/name] as a middle name for [name]Fern[/name], as it’s my mother’s name, but I wonder if it would be strange, as [name]Erica[/name] means “heather”?
The problem is that I would like to use a family name, but there isn’t many I like, or that will go well.
A list of family names:
[name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Abby[/name]
[name]Gladys[/name]
[name]Gayle[/name]
Oleavy
Wow, wow, wow! What a fabulous combo. I have been in love with [name]Fern[/name] for donkeys years and I think that the largely ignored [name]Geraldine[/name] is just lovely I love saying it. From me it gets a 10/10.
I don’t think that it is unusable or anything, but [name]Geraldine[/name] is not my favorite. I just don’t find it to have a pretty sound - too much focus on “[name]Gerald[/name]” which ends up making it masculine, despite the feminine ending.
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Abilene[/name]
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Aberdeen[/name] (ok the ER thing but I just thought this combo was awesome.
To connect it to [name]Abby[/name]
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name] is awesome though. The more I think about it the less the ER thing bothers me. I think it’s more of a problem for me visually than aloud.
This exactly. To use either [name]Fern[/name] or [name]Geraldine[/name], you should pair it with something feminine and hip. This will make the names look quirky-cool, rather than fusty. Together, they’re fusty^2.
I actually love [name]Fern[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name]. [name]Fern[/name] is a family name for me, so it holds a special meaning. I can understand people disliking the clunkiness of it, but if I love it.
I love it. The er thing doesn’t bother me in the slightest since [name]Fern[/name] has an UR sound and [name]Geraldine[/name] has an [name]AIR[/name] sound (to me anyway). I think [name]Geraldine[/name] is great, and anyone who thinks [name]Fern[/name] sounds stuffy should reread/watch [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name]! In fact both names have literary references from childhood ([name]Fern[/name] as mentioned, and [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name] [name]Quimby[/name] from [name]Beverly[/name] [name]Cleary[/name]'s books). So cute, I can picture it on a little one
