[name]Grace[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] are filler names to me that are very lacking in substance. [name]Fiona[/name] is great, and the Gaelic version of [name]Lily[/name] matches the choice of your other daughter’s name.

[name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh in a heartbeat! [name]Fiona[/name] is super gorgeous. Did you conisder Finvola? I think that’s even more beautiful than [name]Fiona[/name].

I voted [name]Flora[/name] [name]Grace[/name] because I love [name]Flora[/name], but I don’t like [name]Grace[/name].

I’ve never heard of Finvola? I think [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh is probably my fav too. I realize [name]Grace[/name] seems a filler but it actually has very significant meaning for me involving my grandparents. [name]Rose[/name] is def just a filler I chose b/c I liked the way it softened [name]Matilda[/name]. I wish I could say it had any meaning to me haha I scoured the family tree for any [name]Rose[/name]'s so I could justify using it but haven’t found any yet.

[name]Cathy[/name], any suggestions for a middle name for [name]Flora[/name] besides [name]Grace[/name]? [name]Flora[/name] is the name of my great aunt who I adored and she was known as [name]Florrie[/name] which I wold also call the baby. I am open to more unique middle name ideas since the first name has such meaning to me.

I like [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh the most. I would have voted for [name]Flora[/name] but I don’t like [name]Grace[/name].

[name]Jessica[/name], any sugggestions for somehting that would flow nicely w/ [name]Flora[/name]/

What if the combo were [name]Flora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]? Better?

Lilidh is going to be impossible for other people to pronounce. It’s better to choose a name for your kid that won’t have other people stumbling over the pronunciation or making them have to spell it all the time.

[name]Do[/name] you think Mhairi is difficult to pronounce? Only curious b/c both Mhairi and Lilidh both gaelic spellings. I don’t think pronunciation is a big issue where we live but certainly our children won’t stay here for the rest of their lives and could be challenging elsewhere.

[name]Flora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is very pretty! What about [name]Flora[/name] [name]Melissande[/name], [name]Flora[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name], or [name]Flora[/name] [name]Viola[/name] [name]Winter[/name]?

I didn’t know they were gaelic spellings, but yes, I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be like [name]Mary[/name] or Mayree. [name]Even[/name] though I think the spelling is very pretty, if it’s too out there it’s kind of a hassle for the child later on.

[name]Flora[/name] [name]Melissande[/name] words very nicely!

[name]Flora[/name] is one of my favourites, but I didn’t vote for it because I don’t like [name]Grace[/name].

Lilidh is also on my extended list, so I voted for that.

I’ve dug out my list and found:

[name]Flora[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] (although I see this is taken)
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Elinor[/name]

Lilidh [name]Eleanor[/name]
Eilionoir [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Raphaela[/name] Lilidh

[name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh- awesome name. Go for it! If Lilidh is a mn, then it won’t matter too much about pronunciation.

It’s actually pronounced [name]Mar[/name]-ee. I live in a very scottish community in [name]Nova[/name] [name]Scotia[/name] (New [name]Scotland[/name]), [name]Canada[/name]. So pronunciation of gaelic spellings is not that big an issue here. Though I know it may be elsewhere should they ever move away! And thank you to others for the suggestions for mn for [name]Flora[/name] b/c I also love [name]Flora[/name] but wasn’t sure what to pair with it.

I love love love Lilidh! [name]How[/name] sweet. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Lily[/name] is very common, the unpredictability of the Lilidh spelling makes Lilidh [name]Grace[/name] work more, imo. I’m torn between Lilidh [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh–I think both are lovely. Lilidh as a FN won my heart, though, so Lilidh [name]Grace[/name] got my vote. Mhairi [name]Elizabeth[/name] and Lilidh [name]Grace[/name] are gorgeous together!

I voted [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh for sure! Mhairi and [name]Fiona[/name] complement each other so well and I am a die hard sib-setter so I love the connection that Mhairi and Lilidh share. Lilidh definitely could be a little trickier for some than Mhairi, but its in the middle spot so no big deal! [name]Love[/name] it!

I absolutely love [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh! [name]Fiona[/name] has always been a favorite of mine, and Lilidh is such a beautiful way to connect the sibset with sister Mhairi. There are so many of us who live in places where Gaelic names and their pronunciations would be totally butchered…I’d say if that is not an issue for you, all the more reason to go for it!

As for a middle name for [name]Flora[/name], why not stick with the Gaelic theme?
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Brighid[/name] (goddess of poetry, healing, and smith-work)
[name]Flora[/name] Casidhe (clever or brave)
[name]Flora[/name] Daimhin (little deer)
[name]Flora[/name] Dubheasa (dark lady of the waterfall)
[name]Flora[/name] Geileis (shining/bright swan)
[name]Flora[/name] Muirne (high-spirited)
[name]Flora[/name] Nainsi (grace)
[name]Flora[/name] Silbhe (from the woods)
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Sinead[/name] (gracious)
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Siobhan[/name] (gracious)

[name]Hope[/name] these help!

Thank you for the ideas, I love [name]Flora[/name] [name]Brighid[/name]. And [name]Bridget[/name] is my Mom’s middle name along w/ her aunt’s and grandmother’s names as well. Not sure why I didn’t think of that. Still leaning toward [name]Fiona[/name] Lilidh I think…have a feeling a decision will not be made until she actually arrives! So many nice ideas here, thank you everyone.
