Finale

Here is my Dh and I’s final list.

Boys:

  1. [name]Noam[/name]
  2. [name]Isaac[/name]
  3. [name]Asher[/name]
  4. [name]Edison[/name]
    Girls:
  5. [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Edward/name
  6. [name]Agatha/name
  7. [name]Katherine/name
  8. [name]Violet[/name]

We don’t plan on having 4 kids! Haha! Only two  But why not be prepared? WDYT of these names?

All your boy names are gorgeous! Loving [name]Noam[/name] & [name]Asher[/name]!
[name]Violet[/name] is my favorite from your girls list. The others aren’t my style

Good luck

I like [name]Isaac[/name] a lot, and [name]Katherine[/name].
I do not like [name]Edward[/name] on a girl at all, even if it is in the middle.

I like [name]Isaac[/name] a lot, and [name]Eddy[/name] as a nn for [name]Edison[/name] (not keen on surnames as first names). [name]Noam[/name] is interesting too, like a less popular [name]Noah[/name], and has good associations for a linguist! But [name]Asher[/name] just reminds me of the song from [name]Joseph[/name] & His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!

The girls’ are all interesting. I like [name]Martha[/name] a lot, but not [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] (or [name]Edward[/name]) and am so-so on [name]Emme[/name], especially as a nn in this case. [name]Violet[/name] is pretty but not my style, I have this thing about the letter ‘v’ and it’s too close to ‘violent’. I really like [name]Catherine[/name] too, but have an irrational hatred of it with a K! And I really want to like [name]Agatha[/name]… it has loads of potential, am just waiting for it to grow on me!

Sorry not more positive, but I love reading people’s lists and hope you don’t mind honest opinions. Am seriously impressed you and husband have managed to narrow it down and agree… I’m so far from that! These are fine and unusual/strong names which you can be proud of. All the best

Thanks for the feedback we really appreciate it! My husband is really laid back and likes nicknames a lot, so that’s how we compromised. We are currently TTC and I have a doctor appt next week. Hoping for good news and to get off BC

Oh my! I just fell in love with the name [name]Noam[/name].

Please don’t take my beloved name! :frowning:

Boys:

  1. [name]Noam[/name] - Hmm… it’s interesting. It’s a nice alternative to [name]Noah[/name], but I like [name]Noah[/name] more.
  2. [name]Isaac[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
  3. [name]Asher[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
  4. [name]Edison[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like.
    Girls:
  5. [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Edward/name - [name]Don[/name]'t like any of them TBH.
  6. [name]Agatha/name - NMS, too old sounding for me.
  7. [name]Katherine/name - A nice classic name.
  8. [name]Violet[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!

Haha at first I thought you were considering Finale as a name. I kind of liked it. But anyways, your names:

  1. [name]Noam[/name] - I think it’ll get confused with [name]Noah[/name], which I prefer. [name]Noam[/name] just sounds kind of awkward to me.
  2. [name]Isaac[/name] - I like this one, with the biblical association and all.
  3. [name]Asher[/name] - Very cool name
  4. [name]Edison[/name] - Not crazy about this one, just a little too [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name]-y.
    Girls:
  5. [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Edward/name - What? Are you considering [name]Edward[/name] for a girl? [name]Don[/name]'t. [name]Martha[/name] is “mom” to me, and [name]Edith[/name] is grandma.
  6. [name]Agatha/name - I seem to be in the minority, but I strongly dislike [name]Agatha[/name] or [name]Aggie[/name].
  7. [name]Katherine/name - I like nn [name]Katie[/name], [name]Katherine[/name] is boring to me
  8. [name]Violet[/name] - [name]Just[/name] a little heavy sounding & too much name for me. Others seem to really like it though.

[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Noam[/name], in spite of Chomsky. Also love [name]Isaac[/name]; like [name]Asher[/name]. [name]Do[/name] not like [name]Edison[/name] at all; what’s wrong with [name]Edward[/name] for a boy? Or [name]Edmund[/name] or [name]Edgar[/name]?

[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Martha[/name]; it’s one of my favourite names and a family name too. [name]Edith[/name], [name]Agatha[/name], and [name]Katharine[/name] (prefer the “a” spelling) are all good classic names too. [name]Don[/name]'t care at all for [name]Edward[/name] for a girl; how about [name]Edwina[/name]? A wonderfully classic name that fits with [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Martha[/name] (the sister in National [name]Velvet[/name] was [name]Edwina[/name]). Also, there is the French Edmonde which is lovely. Have never cared for [name]Violet[/name], I don’t know why. I prefer [name]Vera[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] for “v” names.

The boy names are all great, except [name]Edison[/name] (but I don’t like ‘son’ endings, in general). Why don’t you use [name]Edward[/name] for a boy, and scratch it for the girls? [name]Edward[/name] for a girl is like using [name]Roger[/name] or [name]Patrick[/name] for a girl - doesn’t work at all, in my opinion.

I want to love [name]Violet[/name], but I always just hear ‘violent’. [name]Martha[/name] sounds really plain and [name]Agatha[/name] is clunky-sounding. (Sorry, I’m being so negative!). I second the idea of [name]Edith[/name]. Or I think [name]Esther[/name] would sound beautiful with your boy names.

Thank you for feedback!
Sorry if I confused some of you [name]Edward[/name] would be only the mn for [name]Martha[/name]. We want tbe M.E. initials to get the nn [name]Emme[/name]. We were trying to think of meaningful E names… Couldn’t think of much, so we might use an E name that we just like. We already have two boys in the family named [name]Edward[/name]( My brother and his son), so that’s why we want to use [name]Edison[/name] not [name]Edward[/name]. We figure that [name]Noam[/name] might get misunderstood as [name]Noah[/name], but it’s easy to say "No, [name]Noam[/name] like [name]Noah[/name] with an M.

[name]Edison[/name] is the only boys name I like. I like both [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] from your girls list. [name]Edward[/name] should never, ever be used as on a girl. [name]Ever[/name].

Yea, we won’t use [name]Edward[/name] as [name]Martha[/name]'s mn. Were thinking [name]Martha[/name] [name]Emery/name

My favourite name on your boys list is [name]Isaac[/name] and I like [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] for a girl.

Oh, I love [name]Noam[/name] and [name]Edison[/name].

I think [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] is adorable and I really like [name]Katherine[/name].

Boys:

  1. [name]Noam[/name] - I like it.
  2. [name]Isaac[/name] - like it.
  3. [name]Asher[/name] - like it.
  4. [name]Edison[/name] - love it.

Girls:

  1. [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Edward/name Are you saying [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edward[/name]?
[name]Martha[/name] and [name]Edith[/name] are okay, just kind of nms. [name]Martha[/name] [name]Edith[/name] has too much “th” for me. I don’t really like [name]Edward[/name] even as a mn for a girl.
  2. [name]Agatha/name I might warm up to [name]Agatha[/name] but I don’t like [name]Aggie[/name].
  3. [name]Katherine/name - love it.
  4. [name]Violet[/name] love it.

[name]Martha[/name] [name]Emery[/name] is our favorite.
