After years of hoping and dreaming about having a baby, and then secretly hoping that baby would be a girl, I am now 26 weeks pregnant with a baby girl!
I’ve been thinking about girl names for a long time, but of course now I have to deal with my husband’s opinion rather than just my own. We haven’t decided anything for sure, but we have three top contenders.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - middle name preferably a J, possibly [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] - middle name possibly [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Allison[/name_u] - middle name would almost definitely be [name_f]Margret[/name_f].
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is my top choice, and I think my husband is leaning that way too. The only thing he really wants is a J middle name so that she can at least have the initials “CJ.” So far, [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is the best we have been able to come up with, but I’m not 100% in love with it. Does anyone think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] works? I also love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], but DH doesn’t like “word” names, so [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is not ok with him.
So…any other J names that might work with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]?
Any other first names that sound like they would work with our style? I’m always looking for more options! Thanks!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be lovely!
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so cute too:)
Congrats!!!
I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], it works perfectly! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]? And I agree with the people who said [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], that just sounds so classic and beautiful.
I don’t really like [name_f]Molly[/name_f] but I’m biased about that one so I can’t really give you any imput.
[name_u]Allison[/name_u] [name_f]Margret[/name_f] is great, I like how it means “noble pearl” if you combine the meanings, and [name_u]Allison[/name_u] sounds trendy but has real history and is an old name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was on the short list.
I think my favourites are [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f].
I know your husband doesn’t like “word” names but maybe [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] could get by… I think it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is an “earlier spelling” of [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is nice too.
Also if you like [name_f]Joy[/name_f] but he doesn’t… what about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u]? I think there’s a nice symmetry / balance with the letter C.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is fresh and lovely.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is lovely I think it sounds like you’ll probably go that route so I will just answer your middle name question I personally love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and I don’t super love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] I’m not sure why, maybe the 2 as ending the names its rhymey and too rhythmic for me though u like [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] outside of that context. Other ideas…
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Jae[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Jem[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jen[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jill[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Jai[/name_u]
As for
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Alison[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are absolutely adorable and are good and solid. I know a [name_f]Molly[/name_f], an [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] or a few actually an [name_f]Alison[/name_f] or a few and a few [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]'s and always loved all their names but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is my favorite of all you mentioned and I’ve seen mentioned since. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name.
I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] (or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], like someone suggested earlier) could work. I actually like it better than [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is still my top pick, but my husband is now leaning towards [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. It’s a small compromise, and one I’m willing to make to get a first name that I love. I tried to talk him into [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], but neither was a go.
