Finding the perfect fit

I am looking for advice on finding a name (or several) that perfectly represents all or most of my considered naming styles. I think Regency-era names are gorgeous, such as [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]. Old-lady names are darling - like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. Floral/Nature names are sweet - [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]. Biblical names are meaningful - [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. Any help that y’all could provide would be appreciated.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is gorgeous!

I had a few thoughts-

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Melanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlette[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps a bit- I am struggling with names myself!

Ooh, that’s tough! A few of my favorites for you (most of which feel slightly old-fashioned) …

[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] (Biblical, Regency-era)
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] (feels like this fits floral/nature as well as being old-fashioned)
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] (Regency-era, there’s a St. [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] is a cute nickname)
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] (short and sweet, related to [name_u]John[/name_u], very Regency)
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] (related to angels, Regency-sounding)
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (feels Regency-ish)
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] (Regency-ish in a Gothic way)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (Biblical vibes, Regency in a Gothic way)

Anyways, one thing I like to do is to find combos that fit two of my vibes. (Ivy [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is one of mine. Really the only one I adore that combines everything I need in a name!)

For instance, [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] fits a lot of your categories!

Other ideas:

[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillie[/name_f] Ermengarde
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] Joyanne
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]

That’s just random, but I hope a few of those give you ideas!

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I think the only style on your list it doesn’t fit is Regency, although Bridgerton would make it seem fitting. It’s a biblical name (check!), that means ‘laurel’ (floral? check!), and definitely feels like an ‘old-lady’ name to me.

I would try and cross two of those categories off with each name if at all possible. List of Regency era names. For example:

  • [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is beautiful and would fulfill both Regency-era names and Biblical names (it means yielding to prayer)

  • [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] could cover both old lady names and biblical (gift of God)

  • [name_f]Rose[/name_f] → Floral/Nature name and Old-Lady Name

  • [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] → Regency era & Biblical (Phoebe)

To cover all 4 categories with one name combo, you might go for something like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
