My son is due on the 29th (Leap year baby!) and we like Finneas for him. What do you think of the spelling? We prefer it spelled Finneas but would it be easier for him if we just spelled it the usual way ([name_m]Phineas[/name_m])? Thanks
While I think the [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] spelling would probably be easier for him, I gotta say I much prefer the Finneas spelling.
I like both spellings actually and I don’t think Using Finneas would make a child’s life too difficult. Either way he’d probably have to spell the name out often to people, whether Finneas or [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] (which I don’t think is a massive deal).
Thank you!
I love Finneas! You probably know this but [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Eilish[/name_f]'s talented brother is called that.
I love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], but I would spell it the traditional way. Finneas just looks kind of odd to me? Because I’m so used to the traditional spelling, maybe, but because all Greek names starting with an f sound like [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] are translated like this. [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], etc. So that’s how I’d expect it to be spelled. Also, this isn’t as important, but people 15-20 years older than your son would almost always misspell it as [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] because our generation grew up on the cartoon [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and Ferb.
