[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,
My husband and I love the boy name anders. But our last name is peters. My first instinct is that [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Peters sounds weird. But could it be a catchy alliteration instead? What do you think?
Thanks!!!

Your first job is to please yourselves. If you like it, go for it.
Having said that, our family name ends in an S and we always avoided first names that ended in S because it sounded awkward to our ears. But we’re very persnickety about choosing names.
I’m completely with PP. If you love it, and it doesn’t bother you so much…or if you love the name enough to use it anyway…go for it!
Of course, you should use it if you love it, but I really don’t think that [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Peters sounds all that strange. It’s really cute!
I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan. I don’t believe it is because of the ‘s’ ending; it’s more of ‘ers’, that repeating sound. [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Peters as compared to [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m], for example, although both names end in ‘s’, [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] has a better sound and flow because it doesn’t have the repeating ‘ers’.
I think [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Peters is a little repetitive.
I would not necessarily mind a first name and surname ending in the same letter, in this case both names end in ERS. This also makes the name look off on paper. Sorry.
Thank you everyone! I think you are right. The fact that both names are two syllables ending in ers is too much. Thanks for the feedback.
