First and last name starting with the same letter

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!

I wonder what you think of first and last name starting with the same letter? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it can be too repetitive sound wise? Ex: [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m].

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I don’t think so. I think they can sound fine

I think in some instances it can, but it’s not a deal-breaker if someone loves the name! Personally I don’t enjoy repeating initials (for me or my combos), but if the name & surname are different enough I mind it less!

Unless it’s along the lines of [name_f]Andie[/name_f] [name_u]Anderson[/name_u], I think it’s totally fine

I love the sound of alliteration when done right! I wouldn’t mind

I love alliteration, it makes names special to me :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_m]Just[/name_m] created these combos in a thread and i love them

[name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] + [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u] + [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] + [name_u]Dawson[/name_u] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]

I like alliteration personally, they remind me of superhero names

SO cute! I love alliteration in first & last names! I know a boy called Henry Hines and I think that’s just fabulous. Philip Philips isn’t quite as fun… but Mabel McAvoy? Alice Anderson? Penelope Peters? Yes x100!

I think it! I think it usually flows nicely and makes for a cute name. Some of them can be overdone if it’s way too similar names. Like [name_u]David[/name_u] [name_u]Davis[/name_u]. But just having the first letter of both names be the same is cute!

I think it can be really fun and memorable; it makes me think of superheroes like [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u]. As long as the overall sounds in the name aren’t too close, I like alliteration!

Thank you so much everyone for your answers! The first and last names are not too matchy (like [name_f]Andie[/name_f] [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] or [name_m]Philip[/name_m] Philips). I agree that this kind of combination is too much.

Many of you gave exemples of cute alliterations. One of the names my partner and I like has the same first letter as our last name. It didn’t bother me at the beginning, but lately, I started wondering if it could be a deal-breaker. I don’t think it’s a problem anymore
