First and middle name initials: please help!

Advice needed!
My husband and I are expecting a baby girl in just over two months. Our chosen first name begins with W. The middle name we are considering begins with C. Put them together and you have the initials W.C. [surname]. ‘W.C’, as in, the old-fashioned term for ‘toilet’!!! While hubby doesn’t seem at all phased, I can’t decide if this is a problem. Not too many middle names seem to flow well with the first name, so if it’s problematic, then I’m a bit worried that we’ll never find a suitable alternative! I’d really appreciate the advice of Nameberries about whether this is too unfortunate and we should be looking for a different middle name, or whether I’m overthinking things and need to chill out! Many thanks in anticipation. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Drop it while you still have time.

Honestly, I’ve known people with quite the unfortunate initials (one boy being [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] '[name_m]Smith[/name_m]), but W.C. LastName seems fine! Depending on one’s background or location, people may not readily pick up on the rusty, old term. Additionally, she would still have her last initial in the mix! She won’t be W.C., she will be W.S. (or whatever the surname starts with). Middle initials/names aren’t really commonly used, so she should be fine! [name_m]Even[/name_m] if her first and last initials were W.C., I still think it would be okay! Breathe, mama, I’m sure you guys have a great name picked out for your little girl

I don’t think it’s a big concern! Especially as it’s her middle initial, not her last one that makes the word, as [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] said, middle initials are hardly ever used, so I really wouldn’t overthink it

I think that is not a big deal at all. Especially in the US where that term is rarely used, and because she will have a third initial. First and middle initial are rarely used alone anyway. Things worked out OK for WC Fields and [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Carlos[/name_m] [name_m]Williams[/name_m].

If you live in [name_u]North[/name_u] American you don’t need to be concerned because that term isn’t really used here, and I agree with @sarah1800 that we rarely use our first and middle initial only. She would use WC___last initial.

Another vote saying it’s not a big deal (I’m from the US).

No biggie at all!

I’m 30 and living in the U.S. - I have no idea what WC could possibly mean.
