First + middle name ending in S

I have my third GIRL on the way!! We thought for sure it was a boy but are so thrilled to be welcoming a third sister. All three girls will be one year apart, too :face_holding_back_tears::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Her name will be Frances, already decided. It’s been on our list the last three years with each baby and we love it. Franny will be the sweetest addition to big sisters Leni and Ru.

I love the name Mars for a girl and initially beside Frances I thought this was such a fun combo. It just kind of occurred to me that both end in S…. What are your thoughts? Does it work or too much a mouthful? I can definitely see us saying ā€œFranny Mars!ā€ But want it to have the same ideal fit with her actual first name.

The girls all have pretty unique names and they don’t all necessarily go together in a mainstream way, which I like. Especially Ru, who’s name came to be organically and unexpectedly, but now is totally perfect for her and us.

Our last name is pronounced Ry-back. All together, with middle names, they would be:
Leni Bloom
Ru Ines
Frances Mars

I love Frances Mars! I pronounce Frances more like Francis, so the names don’t really sounds like they have the same ending. It matches Leni and Ru too. Overall, I think the names work perfectly together.

hope this helps!

i think it’s great! it’s a very fun and unexpected combo and i dont think there’s any problem since she won’t be going by frances mars all the time. franny mars is so unique!

Congratulations on your girl #3 :tada::tada:

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] is beautiful! Such a lovely classic choice and definitely should be used as she’s always been on your list. I think this is your time to use the ever so sweet [name_f]Frances[/name_f] even though I wouldn’t automatically put her in your sibling set I love the eclectic feel of your sibling set. For me [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] is a little trippy on the tongue however I do not think this is the end of the world. The reality is as parents you hardly ever use your child’s middle name and when you’re planning to say [name_m]Mars[/name_m] it’s with [name_f]Franny[/name_f] which avoids the repeated sounds so is a non issue. I say go for it.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps :ringer_planet:

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] sounds good to me  It might help that I say the ā€˜s’ sounds slightly differently (the [name_f]Frances[/name_f] ā€˜s’ is definitely softer to me)

I think that having two names that end in s is okay because they don’t rhyme and have different numbers of syllables.

[name_m]Lars[/name_m] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] - bad idea.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] - just fine!

[name_m]Welcome[/name_m] back to Nameberry. I hope everything is going well with your pregnancy.

I’m so happy that you settled with [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! I know it is an old favorite of yours and it sounds beautiful with your girls’ names.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] has a nice flow in my opinion. The same letter in the end is not a big deal. I also would like to emphasize that [name_f]Franny[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] sounds absolutely adorable! [name_m]Mars[/name_m] is a very unique and powerful middle name. I really adore your choice.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] may be the perfect name for your new addition!

I love Frances/Franny with your girls’ names, and I’m so glad you’re using it. Not loving [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m]. The flow gets really jumbled up in my mouth and comes out sounding like I’m saying something about s’mores.

[name_f]Franny[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] is cute and doesn’t have that issue. You could cut straight to [name_f]Franny[/name_f] and not use [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (though that would be sad, because [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is lovely), or maybe think of a [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- name you like and make [name_m]Mars[/name_m] a nickname for the middle…? [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but that might be too traditional for you.

Thanks for this!

We are still considering naming her just [name_f]Franny[/name_f], as we think it fits with the other girls names really well and love it a lot, but tbd. Not sure we are ready to let go of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] in the end.

It’s not so much the ā€œMarā€ sound I love as it is [name_m]Mars[/name_m] specifically, for the name and uniqueness and overall vibe. But I hear your opinion and appreciate the share

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] nn [name_f]Franny[/name_f] is SO darling and I love it!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Franny[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m]. Cute, spunky and unique!
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Mars[/name_m] is a bit more of a mouthful but if you will be mostly calling her [name_f]Franny[/name_f] I think its really no big deal. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is E.vangeline F.ay and we call her E.vie F.ay all the time but very rarely say E.vangeline F.ay.
Best wishes!!
