First name for Hélène?

I’ve been majorly crushing on the name Hélène lately (a [name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], pronounced ay-[name_m]LEN[/name_m]). I find it so lyrical and light and airy, and it just seems so refreshing! My sister’s mn is a form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], as well, so I have thought about it in her honor. What first names would work with the middle name Hélène?

So far, my first thought was [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène, which I like, but I’m not sure I can see me with a [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I’m tossing around [name_f]Zara[/name_f] Hélène, as well, maybe?

Thanks, ladies!

Ooh, ooh! I’ll come back to this after work  I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] Hélène. This was my teacher’s name when I was in grade 1 and it has always stuck with me. So pretty!
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] Hélène is pretty, but my accent changes over, and I say it like "thah-da"almost, haha.

This is my friend’s middle name. She’s a [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] nicknamed Josci (jo-see), I don’t think you’d like that though.

Also, thoughts on [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène or [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène? I’m pretty convinced that I want to add either [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (possibly nn’d [name_f]Annie[/name_f]) to my list, but I hadn’t found a mn to pair with it yet. If I opted for a double barrel first (like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]), I would probably only use one middle. Does [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène work?

@renrose - I actually don’t hate [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] Hélène–I’m not a huge proponent of unisex names on girls, but [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]'s one I can rather see the appeal of, and I think [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] and Hélène work together pretty well. I wouldn’t use it, but I can at least appreciate it.

Anyone else? And thoughts on [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène?

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t you think there is too much of the “e” in [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène?
I really like [name_f]Maria[/name_f] Hélène. Though [name_f]Maria[/name_f] might be too old fashioned, but still very classic. Or, how about [name_f]Maia[/name_f] (I prefer this spelling) Hélène?

Hélène is gorgeous. I know a [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Hélène and I love it, so I would definitely suggest that  I prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène over [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène. [name_f]Zara[/name_f] Hélène is smashing (and ZH are my initials, so I am biased).

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] Hélène
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] Hélène
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] Hélène
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] Hélène
[name_f]Maude[/name_f] Hélène

I prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] one issue I know accent marks aren’t included on US documents so her middle name would be [name_f]Helene[/name_f] most of the time.

Ooh, [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène is amazing! I had all day to think and I think you already had a winner there
I’d probably go with something [name_m]French[/name_m], and many [name_m]French[/name_m] names sound great together.

I really like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f]! I like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], I don’t know what it is, but I don’t think it rolls off the tongue quite as nicely as [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]. Also, I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] alone sounds good.

@solace - erm, not really? The "E"s in [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] really aren’t even pronounced, and only one of the "E"s in [name_f]Helene[/name_f] is?

@shvibziks - [name_f]AGNES[/name_f]! One of my hugest GPs. I’m not sure I can see me with an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], but I adore it, and I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] even better than the combo I’ve always kept in the back of my mind ([name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]). I think. Or just as much. Or almost as much? Anyhow, I really love it, lol. I am just not sure I’m ready to add [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] to my list. For some reason it seems jarringly different from all my other favorites? I also love [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] and really want to add it to my list, but more as a middle, and [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] seems like a lot of name.

@emiliana - yeah, I am familiar with the US and accents. I feel like as much of a hassle as they are, I would still use them. [name_f]Helene[/name_f] and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] aren’t [name_m]French[/name_m] names, but Hélène and Agnès are. I’m learning [name_m]French[/name_m], I adore the language, and I respect the accents. I wouldn’t expect others to use them, honestly, because I know that’s just asking a lot, and I’m sure many computer programs wouldn’t even include them. But I would use them as far as I could, and I’d leave it up to my child as to whether or not they wanted to use the accents, too. I don’t know; [name_f]Helene[/name_f] just seems naked without the accents.

Any other ideas? [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Hélène/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] Hélène are at the forefront, but I am curious to see if there’s anything else out there I like better. (Plus, I still have to decide between [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!)
