Hello all! I was looking for some help for a first name to go with the middle name [name]Walker[/name]. We are 100% sure we want [name]Walker[/name] since it has a personal family connection We have a few ideas but are not too sure on any of them! Any suggestions would be appreciated
Our ideas so far are: [name]Weston[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Jackson[/name]. [name]Theodore[/name] is my favorite so far and [name]Jackson[/name] is my husbands. I actually like the name [name]Jackson[/name] but I know three boys given this name in the last few months! My husband and I both like [name]Archer[/name] but since both names end in “er” I’m not sure
Help please!!
[name]Hi[/name]! [name]Walker[/name]'s a great middle. Here are some thoughts:
[name]Weston[/name] [name]Walker[/name]: I find the 2 W’s a bit much…not awful but a bit much. I think with [name]Walker[/name] as a middle you may want to stay away from anything too heavily surnamey, since it starts sounding lawfirmy. That said, if you like [name]Weston[/name] but agree the W’s are a bit much, [name]Easton[/name] [name]Walker[/name] or [name]Preston[/name] [name]Walker[/name] might be two similar options.
[name]Oliver[/name]: a very handsome name, but I find the -er endings here matchy too. [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Walker[/name] isn’t bad though, [name]Oliver[/name] at least has a different number of syllables. I might suggest: [name]Evan[/name] [name]Walker[/name], [name]Everett[/name] [name]Walker[/name].
[name]Archer[/name]: I think the two names are too matchy. [name]Asher[/name] is a close name that at least is less surnamey, although I stil think [name]Asher[/name] [name]Walker[/name] is a bit rough. Maybe [name]Arlo[/name] [name]Walker[/name] or [name]Charles[/name] [name]Walker[/name]? Maybe [name]Archer[/name] is a great name to save for a future son?
[name]Lincoln[/name] [name]Walker[/name]: since [name]Walker[/name] is famously a middle name for the Bushes, this is feeling really heavily presidential, and really heavily surnamey. [name]Lincoln[/name]'s a nice name though. [name]Malcolm[/name] [name]Walker[/name]? [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Walker[/name]?
[name]Theodore[/name]: [name]Theodore[/name]'s a great name. They both end in -r but it is a different sound. It works pretty well. You might like [name]Edward[/name] [name]Walker[/name] or [name]Theo[/name] [name]Walker[/name], just [name]Theo[/name].
[name]Jackson[/name]: Very surnamey but handsome for sure. It is quite popular and only you can decide how much that bothers you. [name]James[/name] [name]Walker[/name] nn [name]Jack[/name] might work. I was about to suggest [name]John[/name] nn [name]Jack[/name] but [name]Johnny[/name] [name]Walker[/name] is a famous liquor so that should be out. Similarly I was going to suggest [name]Jameson[/name] for you but I think it has the same problem.
Summary: I like [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] the best of the ones you’re considering. I advise against [name]Weston[/name] (mildly) and [name]Archer[/name] (more strongly). I suggest [name]Easton[/name], [name]Preston[/name], [name]Evan[/name], [name]Everett[/name], [name]Arlo[/name], [name]Charles[/name], [name]Malcolm[/name], [name]Lennox[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Theo[/name], [name]James[/name].
Good luck!
From your list, I think [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Walker[/name] sounds great!
Others:
[name]Easton[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Leo[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Lewis[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name] [name]Walker[/name]
thank you ladies for the responses! I didn’t realize until you said jesba but a lot of the names do sound like two surnames… which I don’t think I really like. I like [name]Easton[/name] and and [name]Lennox[/name] is pretty good too… although [name]Theodore[/name] is still my favorite but my husband isn’t loving it dantea off of your list i really like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Tristan[/name] is actually a name we considered for our first son
oh and we like the nickname “huck” however the only name we can come up with is huckleberry which is too out there for us- have any ideas for names with the nickname of huck! thanks again
I think [name]Charles[/name] nn [name]Huck[/name] is plausible because of the historic connection to [name]Chuck[/name]. It also seems plausible for [name]Henry[/name] since they both start with H and it’s kind of close to [name]Hank[/name]. Also a possibility for a [name]Hugh[/name] or [name]Hugo[/name]. Or a [name]Tucker[/name] but [name]Tucker[/name] [name]Walker[/name] doesn’t really work.
[name]Huxley[/name]? Also the surname thing. [name]Hudson[/name]? [name]Hudson[/name] [name]Walker[/name] nn [name]Huck[/name] kind of merges some of the sounds, could work.
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Walker[/name] nn [name]Huck[/name]?
I really like the name [name]Henry[/name]! I will bring it up to the hubby He seems to be much pickier than I am- not that I like all names but I am much more open than he is to a lot of different names… with my second daughter we finally had to pick a name that we both just kinda liked- since we couldn’t agree on a name! The name fits her well and I love it now but I don’t want the same thing happening again!!!
I think [name]Henry[/name] [name]Walker[/name] nn [name]Huck[/name] is really nice : D. Fingers crossed your husband agrees.
I agree! Thanks
