First Name for NN Frankie on a Girl

Berries, can you think of any girl names that can have [name]Frankie[/name] as a nn? [name]Do[/name] you think it’s a cute nn for a girl? All I can think of is [name]Francesca[/name]. Would it work with [name]Fiona[/name], or is that a stretch? Any suggestions are very appreciated  Thanks so much!

[name]Frances[/name] - my favourite of the possibilities
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Francia[/name]
[name]Francine[/name]
[name]Françoise[/name]

I personally think that [name]Frankie[/name] as a nn for [name]Fiona[/name] is a bit of a stretch.

[name]Franca[/name]
[name]Francisca[/name] (Spanish/Portuguese)
[name]Franziska[/name] ([name]German[/name])

[name]Franca[/name] can also be spelled [name]Franka[/name].

I find just plain [name]France[/name] kind of a bold interesting move. Might be safer as a middle name. Pretty, but there’s the whole I see [name]London[/name], I see [name]France[/name], thing…

Francetta
Francette
[name]Francina[/name]
[name]Freya[/name] (???) Maybe with a certain middle with sounds from the -nk part of [name]Frankie[/name], like, [name]Freya[/name] [name]Nicole[/name].
[name]Fannia[/name] (a stretch, as its a variant of [name]Fanny[/name], another nickname for [name]Frances[/name], but, could work). Maybe give it an R middle name with a K sound too for good measure. [name]Fannia[/name] [name]Raquel[/name]?

Similarly:
[name]Franette[/name]
[name]Fanchette[/name]
[name]Francille[/name]
[name]Fransabelle[/name]
[name]Fanya[/name]

See here:

I also find [name]Fiona[/name] nn [name]Frankie[/name] a bit much, and I’m flexible on these things. At the same time, do what you want : D. People have nn’s that have nothing to do with the name sometimes. I’m [name]Jessica[/name]/[name]Jess[/name] and went by [name]Nina[/name] as a pet name for several years (although it never left the house/expanded beyond my parents).

I love all the suggestions,Thank you! And please keep em comin! I actually knew a girl named [name]France[/name] (Fr-[name]AH[/name]-nce) [name]Claire[/name], she was from…[name]France[/name] haha! That’s a very interesting option I hadn’t thought of. I also like [name]Frances[/name], [name]Freya[/name], [name]Francisca[/name] and Francetta. Could/[name]Do[/name] you pronounce Francetta ([name]Fran[/name]-[name]CHE[/name]-ta)?

My great grandma’s name was [name]Frankie[/name]. [name]Just[/name] [name]Frankie[/name]. We called her Mama [name]Frankie[/name].

I love [name]Frankie[/name], especially as a diminutive of [name]Frances[/name]. I recently included [name]Frances[/name] on my top ten, mainly for [name]Frankie[/name] as a nn.

I’d do [name]Francesca[/name] or [name]Frances[/name]. Or maybe you could do something like [name]Freya[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], nn [name]Frankie[/name]?

Here are some interesting [name]Frankie[/name] names, I can’t think if anything to be concerned about any of these names off the top of my head

Franceline
Francelise/francelyse
Franciette
Franciane
Francesa (I like this one!)
Francinette
Francelette
Francile
Francisa
[name]Francisca[/name]

@ tavn - [name]How[/name] neat that your grandma’s name was [name]Frankie[/name], thanks for your comment!
@ mary-la- Nice to meet another [name]Frankie[/name] fan!
@ svea- Thanks for the suggestion of [name]Freya[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], I like it.
@ thetxbelle- Thanks for cool list of [name]Frankie[/name] names! Very intersting

I love [name]Frances[/name] but [name]Francesca[/name] is also a great choice! I like the [name]Freya[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] suggestion that svea gave, as well!

I am pretty happy someone shares an interest in Frankie! Frankie is Charming. I personnally was wondering this very thing the other day. And for the “is this stretching” consider this: since William can be Bill and Margaret can be Peggy. I even heard of a girl named Olivia nn Libby, too.

Francesca could be shortened to Frankie, though Francesca is a romantic word and Frankie has that rougher K sound.
I know nameberries really don’t encourage making up names, but sometimes it works. Think about all the Vanessas (literary invention) and all the maryjanes. Maybe try a combination. Maybe Frances-Kate with the K and Fran- sound in there. I do agree you could use beginning sound Fran- and middle name K sound. I went to the super-search feature on nameberry and put “fr” in the beginning box and “k” in the contains box to get these:
Franka
Frankee
Frankey
Franki
Frankie
Frankie-jean
Franky
Franziska
Fredericka
Frederickina
Frederika
Fredrika
Frerika
Friederika
Friederike
Frika
Frikka
Frydryka

I like [name]Francine[/name] and [name]Frances[/name] but spelled [name]Francis[/name]. I know of a mexican girl named Francia, which means [name]France[/name] in Spanish! I think that sounds prettier than [name]France[/name]. Good luck!

[name]Frankie[/name] is a cure name! ([name]Fiona[/name] is a stretch)!

  • cute not cure…

My 4th’s name is [name]Frances[/name] [name]Kate[/name] (double first name) and her nn is [name]Frankie[/name].

Frankline but my friend was born [name]Franki[/name] with no fuller name.

I think it could definitely work on [name]Fiona[/name]!
