My great aunt [name_f]Mae[/name_f] passed when she was two in the flu epidemic and her life and death had a profound impact on her parents and future siblings; they never forgot her. I thought she’d make a good namesake but I’m not sure how strange [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is with [name_f]Summers[/name_f].

It’s very cute but (to be devil’s advocate) it could also be a porn name. Middle school boys are the worst.

I quite like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f], mind you [name_f]May[/name_f] is an [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] month in Australia so southern.maples comment doesn’t ring true with me. I think it’s fine :slight_smile:

Would you consider using [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] instead, and calling her [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a nickname? I just think it might look better on a resume. Aside from the professionalism factor I think it makes for a sweet, albeit quirky name.

I like it! If you’re unsure, you could use [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a middle name instead - it often fits so beautifully in the middle spot. Or you could use a name like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] as a first name, and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as her nickname.

I agree with this! I think it would work better in the middle name spot, which is often where honor names go (gives your DS her own identity as well).

I don’t see anything wrong [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f], but I think that as an adult you might use it as a nickname. I like either [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f].
