This is my second post in a week! We’re spinning and I’m tempted to go to a professional to help us choose a name for baby girl #3. I’m fairly confident in using [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a middle, as our other two girls have flower middles. I love the whimsy and sweetness of it.
We’ve cycled through the top 1000 names many times, and almost nothing really feels right - even as a contender. Older sisters are [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] ([name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]) and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I really don’t want a sibset of grandmother names and want to steer away from strong vintage connotations as well as anything too uncommon or complex. It’s tricky to balance [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], and I do tend to prefer more traditional names with great nicknames. I also lean towards softer, feminine names. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] was a bold move for me, but one I was so glad I made.
A few we’ve contemplated are:
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], but makes me think of the [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Girls
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], love love love but it’s sooooo in the top 10 everywhere
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f], but dh isn’t on board and thinks [name_f]Cece[/name_f] with [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] sounds like pet poodles
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f], like it but just not enough to love but dh does
[name_f]Lena[/name_f], love it and thought it might be a balancing option but dh said no way
Advice?! Anything is so appreciated! This is going to be a long process.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], sounds a bit too cutesy for me, maybe [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a nice solid choice but if it’s too popular for you then how would you feel about [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] looks substantial, even flipped around [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is an absolute gem.
If [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is too much for your dh how about [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]?
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is also a pretty solid choice, other ideas can be [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
[name_f]Lena[/name_f], not a fan of this name but other ideas can be [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], or [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
What about ditching [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and using [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]? [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] is french for daisy and would sound cute with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. Plus you have the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. The other option I like for you is [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I think it’s the perfect gap between [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] as it has history like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] but is modern and hip like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] also sounds gorgeous! I also think if you were ballsy enough [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] would be lovely. You can call her [name_f]Etta[/name_f] for short and [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] sounds lovely.
In conclusion -
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (Can’t go wrong with either)
My Top Five Picks for You:
[name_f]Marlaine[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Beverley[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivette[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Selina[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Nella[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
What about [name_f]Selina[/name_f] or [name_f]Celine[/name_f] in place of [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. That way you have the option on the nickname [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and it’s kind of a compromise?
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] are really, really cute! I adore [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], but [name_f]Cece[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] do sound quite cutesy. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is cute, but also very popular. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is sweet as well, but I don’t love it as much as the others.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Estella[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (alternative for [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], and the nickname could be [name_f]Lia[/name_f]/[name_f]Lea[/name_f])
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
I understand the appeal of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. It’s hard to come up with anything else quite like it, but here are some names that seem to me to work with the sibset while sounding current.
The first name that came to mind was [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], but that may be to vintage for you? So many great suggestions already, I especially love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for you. Sorry for repeats.
Thank you for all of this thoughtful input! I love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but my first name is [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], and it’s too close. I actually adore [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]/[name_f]Etta[/name_f], but it’s my mil’s dog’s name. I also love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but dh said no…
I like but just don’t love (or have too many negative associations with) [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], but appreciate them all.
My [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] was supposed to be [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], but I just don’t want the nn [name_f]Emme[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] at the end of the day…it’s more common around here than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f]…and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. Tbc!!
I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a middle!! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] from your list is my favourite combination, its truly beautiful. If you really love the name I’d say its the best choice for you but I understand if the popularity factor is an issue. [name_f]May[/name_f] I make some suggestions like the others? I was trying to go off the style of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], well established without feeling old, and longer names that could lead to [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as well as other nicknames that both you and your dh might like.
[name_f]Evangelina[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Evie[/name_f]/[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Lena[/name_f] from your list?)
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]? although I wonder if [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] might feel a bit old for you?)
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Ada[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (caould be [name_f]Ada[/name_f] or [name_f]Lena[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (the first is my preferred spelling of the name, the second feels more like it could also lead to [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Maddie[/name_f])
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (I like that it has the same sound as [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] from your list, but you could possibly go with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_f]Leah[/name_f] for nickname options? [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_f]Leah[/name_f] sound close to [name_f]Lena[/name_f] to me)
Virginia Daisy (could be Ginny?)
I hope these aren’t completely off the mark, I personally like [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] the best, I also really like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or possibly [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] from your original list. It still sounds beautiful imo xx
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] thats ok sorry if its not what you were looking for/too much my style and for such a long post!!! Xxx
