[name]Hi[/name] Everyone,
This is my first post (and first baby!). My husband and I are expecting in [name]December[/name] - don’t know the sex. I’m having a hard name coming up with a name I like, especially for a boy, that sounds good with our last name - Bartkowiak
Some girls names I like in general are [name]Julia[/name], [name]Juliet/name, [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lilia[/name] (nn [name]Lily[/name] -though the popularity makes me a little nervous). In general I like more gender specific names. I thought [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] was pretty - but then realized that those three names together are SO long, she’d poke her eyes out! Plus, does [name]Juliette[/name] Bartkowiak have too many hard sounds? Would [name]Julia[/name] go better?
For boys, I (mostly, don’t love) like - [name]Will/name, [name]Ben[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Owen[/name].
Any suggestions? Willing to see name combos with these, OR totally new suggestions!
[name]How[/name] do you pronounce your last name? In my head I am saying “[name]Bart[/name]-Cow-ack”…is that even close?
[name]Juliette[/name] is beautiful, but the first name and last name both having 3 syllables is throwing me off a bit. I think a two syllable name would sound better, or even a short one syllable name. My initial thoughts:
I think [name]Julia[/name] works better than [name]Juliette[/name], but if you really like the name, the [name]Juliet[/name] spelling wouldn’t make it look so long written down. For boys, I think [name]Owen[/name] works great with your last name.
I have a long polish last name too, its a pain when some names just dont seem to work!
I like [name]Julia[/name] better than [name]Juliet[/name], and [name]Lilia[/name] best of all with your name—somehow because all polish girls name would end with the -a, it seems to flow better with a consonant heavy surname.
I like [name]William[/name] best on the boys side.
I actually have a friend who has a very similar last name to yours and they had some trouble finding names that would work with it. (They named their daughter [name]Anna[/name] “[name]Anya[/name]”).
