💭 Fitzgerald?

Quick backstory: my cousin loves the name Fitzgerald for a son. (EDIT: However, she, her mother, and the family aren’t fully sold on it!) She and most others like the “Fitz” part, but are way turned off by the “Gerald.” However, she doesn’t like any other names we’ve suggested that begin with “Fitz.”

What do you all think of Fitzgerald as a first name? Fitz would be the nickname he goes by… We think Fitz alone could be a good first name! Middle name would most likely be Sean.

Are there any names that start with “Fitz” or are just similar to Fitzgerald that you think my cousin might like??
(For reference, her adorable girls’ names are Scarlett and Sloane, and she also like the idea of Ferris on a boy, but can’t use it because Ferris and Sloane don’t work for sibs thanks to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!!)

Thanks so much, my family cannot wait to see what your thoughts are!!!

Oh, and she doesn’t want a name that starts with “S” either — too matchy with the girls!!!

[name_m]Fitz[/name_m] works as a stand alone!

[name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] is pretty cool -literary and kind of sophisticated.

[name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] and [name_m]Fitzroy[/name_m] came to mind.

[name_m]Forrest[/name_m] or [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] were some other names that I thought of. Maybe [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], [name_u]Edison[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Franklin[/name_u] and [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] came to mind too

If your cousin loves [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m], then [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] her son shall be. If she isn’t about to have a child right now, then time or her naming partner may change her mind. But it is not for the “rest of the cousins” to do so. It will be her (and her partner’s) child and they should be free to name their child as they choose, just as you and the rest of the cousins would expect to do the same when your time comes around.

If everyone likes [name_m]Fitz[/name_m], then use his nickname when the time comes.

She may think Fitzgerald nn Fitz is adorable. It’s her opinion that matters here.

I fully know that it’s her choice. Just trying to have some fun coming up with more ideas, because she wants more ideas and doesn’t think Fitzgerald is as adorable as Scarlett or Sloane! And she wants her family to like the names too! Obviously that’s not the deal breaker, just going with what she’s told me. And would love suggestions about names!

So, that said, still looking for ideas!! She’s not fully sold on anything yet (yes, including Fitzgerald as well!) so still hunting.

I actually really like [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] (Fitz or [name_m]Gerald[/name_m] as nn) [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] as a stand alone name doesn’t work to me, sounds like Fits and that sounds fussy lol

I also think [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] work fine together, not many people he’s gonna be growing up with will be privy to that specific connection and if they are I hardly doubt she would get any type of negative feedback. again, speaking from my perspective

I can’t really think of any ‘Fitz’ specific names but I’ll throw a few below:

[name_m]Fitzpatrick[/name_m]
Fitzsimmon/Fitzsimon
