Quick backstory: my cousin loves the name Fitzgerald for a son. (EDIT: However, she, her mother, and the family arenât fully sold on it!) She and most others like the âFitzâ part, but are way turned off by the âGerald.â However, she doesnât like any other names weâve suggested that begin with âFitz.â
What do you all think of Fitzgerald as a first name? Fitz would be the nickname he goes by⌠We think Fitz alone could be a good first name! Middle name would most likely be Sean.
Are there any names that start with âFitzâ or are just similar to Fitzgerald that you think my cousin might like??
(For reference, her adorable girlsâ names are Scarlett and Sloane, and she also like the idea of Ferris on a boy, but canât use it because Ferris and Sloane donât work for sibs thanks to Ferris Buellerâs Day Off!!)
Thanks so much, my family cannot wait to see what your thoughts are!!!
[name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] is pretty cool -literary and kind of sophisticated.
[name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] and [name_m]Fitzroy[/name_m] came to mind.
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m] or [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] were some other names that I thought of. Maybe [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], [name_u]Edison[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Franklin[/name_u] and [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] came to mind too
[name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] [name_u]Sean[/name_u] is soo handsome and I think it goes really well with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
If your cousin loves [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m], then [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] her son shall be. If she isnât about to have a child right now, then time or her naming partner may change her mind. But it is not for the ârest of the cousinsâ to do so. It will be her (and her partnerâs) child and they should be free to name their child as they choose, just as you and the rest of the cousins would expect to do the same when your time comes around.
If everyone likes [name_m]Fitz[/name_m], then use his nickname when the time comes.
I fully know that itâs her choice. Just trying to have some fun coming up with more ideas, because she wants more ideas and doesnât think Fitzgerald is as adorable as Scarlett or Sloane! And she wants her family to like the names too! Obviously thatâs not the deal breaker, just going with what sheâs told me. And would love suggestions about names!
I actually really like [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] (Fitz or [name_m]Gerald[/name_m] as nn) [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] as a stand alone name doesnât work to me, sounds like Fits and that sounds fussy lol
I also think [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] work fine together, not many people heâs gonna be growing up with will be privy to that specific connection and if they are I hardly doubt she would get any type of negative feedback. again, speaking from my perspective
I canât really think of any âFitzâ specific names but Iâll throw a few below:
Iâm going to throw some other random names here too, maybe she just hasnât found that sweet spot yet!
