Fletcher, Sterling, Casimir

We’re having a boy! But DH and I had only agreed on a girl name so a boy does complicate things…we both like names that are older sounding/literary/maybe a little unusual, but not too trendy. He doesn’t want it to have a “boring” name like him ([name]Anthony[/name] [name]Michael[/name]) but he doesn’t seem to really like anything I suggest. Last name starts with S, three syllables, Spanish origin (requires spelling every time).
We considered [name]Henry[/name], but that is getting way too popular too fast.
I love [name]Fletcher[/name] and I tried to get my sister to use it for both of her boys. “[name]Fletch[/name]” is such a cute nickname. DH associates this with [name]Jim[/name] [name]Carrey[/name] in Liar, Liar, but I’m trying to broaden his opinion. [name]Do[/name] others have this association too? [name]Sterling[/name] is a family name on my side, so maybe, or maybe for the MN…
I recently decided [name]Casimir[/name] might not be too far out there - [name]Sufjan[/name] [name]Steven[/name]'s [name]Casimir[/name] Pulaski day is my favorite song and “[name]Cas[/name]/Caz” could be a cute nickname.
I also like [name]Emery[/name] and [name]Hawthorne[/name] or maybe [name]Murray[/name] or [name]Archer[/name]…DH says maybe [name]Atticus[/name].
Honest opinions and additional suggestions are welcome!

I am Polish descent, so [name]Casimir[/name] is a pretty classic name to me. I would love to see it used more and I love the nickname [name]Cas[/name]/Caz. [name]Cash[/name] is also a possibility, as a nickname.

[name]Sterling[/name] is one of those names I love on someone else, but wouldn’t use myself. I really like it. It has a strong, masculine, southwestern vibe.

I really dislike [name]Fletcher[/name], nn, [name]Fletch[/name]. It reminds me of wretch and it just does not have a pleasant sound to me. I prefer [name]Archer[/name].

from that list both Flecther and [name]Atticus[/name] jumper out of me…

[name]Fletcher[/name] - I don’t associate it with [name]Jim[/name] [name]Carrey[/name], but I do associate it with the [name]Chevy[/name] [name]Chase[/name] film [name]Fletch[/name].

[name]Casimir[/name] - Not bad. This could be a keeper.

[name]Sterling[/name] - I have a soft spot for this. My great uncle was [name]Sterling[/name], and I think it’s a good solid name.

[name]Emery[/name] - I just think of nail files, to be honest.

[name]Hawthorne[/name] - I like this a lot.

[name]Murray[/name] - Cute, but not as strong as some of your other choices.

[name]Archer[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! And the nn [name]Archie[/name] is a bonus.

[name]Atticus[/name] - I like this a lot.

My favorites are [name]Sterling[/name] and [name]Archer[/name].

I love [name]Casimir[/name] - it was my grandfather’s name, but he spelled it “[name]Kazimir[/name]” (Croatian spelling).

I also like [name]Fletcher[/name] and [name]Atticus[/name]

Good luck!
