Hello Berries,
Would like to know general thoughts/impressions of the name Fleurance (or Fleurence) for a girl. Actually saw it posted by Eponymia in one of her Dutch Rarities list. I would love to know how a Dutch speaker would pronounce it! A little info- it is French and means flowering (fleur), also a place name in [name]France[/name] with its French pronunciation being like fluhr-AWNS. Thank you!

I would think it’s a creative spelling of [name]Florence[/name] if it was on a kid that wasn’t French. I would say it the same way I say [name]Florence[/name]. -ence is slightly better imo but I don’t really like it either way.
In the US, it will come across as fairly pretentious and will probably appear made up (like a combo of [name]Fleur[/name] and [name]Florence[/name], not like a legit French word).
I love the name [name]Fleur[/name]. I think it is beautiful. But Fleurance reminds me of insurance…
Makes me think of Fluorescence. The prn make me think of [name]Florence[/name].
Not a name I would use [name]IRL[/name].
I’m french, so I would say it the french way, But it’s still basically florence.
