Flop? Lol
[name_m]Just[/name_m] spent 45 min browsing baby names with dh and other than [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] (yawn!) the only other name that got him excited was [name_u]Flip[/name_u]. “Ooh, love [name_u]Flip[/name_u]!” Apparently there’s a famous fisherman with that name. Wdyt about [name_u]Flip[/name_u]? There’d have to be a formal name to go with that right? [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]? Any other options? Siblings are [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f], last name sounds like butterworth.
Thanks!
Xx
I suppose you could use [name_u]Flip[/name_u] for [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] or [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]. I can really think of anything else. Anyway I think [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Philip[/name_m] would be a lovely sib-set.
Its pretty crazy next to [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. [name_m]Kip[/name_m] is similar but more, well, normal…
[name_m]Pip[/name_m] is a cute nn for [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. X
You haven’t heard of comedian [name_u]Flip[/name_u] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] and his female character of [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f]? While he was hilarious, I don’t know if I would want to name a child after him. [name_m]Philip[/name_m] nn [name_u]Flip[/name_u] would be ok I suppose but [name_u]Flip[/name_u] reminds me of the word “flippant” so it’s not a fave nn of mine.
I don’t like it but it and especially with the siblings. It would be a cute middle name though. [name_m]Philip[/name_m] works well and goes really well with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. I really can’t think of anything else though, sorry!
I really like [name_m]Philip[/name_m] with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] & [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and think [name_u]Flip[/name_u] would be a really cute nn. Wouldn’t use it without the full name though.
[name_m]Philip[/name_m] with the nickname [name_u]Flip[/name_u] is super super super cute!
[name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Philip[/name_m] is a great sibset in my opinion.
I love the name [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. I have heard of people using the nn [name_u]Flip[/name_u] but I personally love the name just as it is. I think [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] nn [name_u]Flip[/name_u] also works but [name_m]Philip[/name_m] is better with your sibset imo.
I prefer it as a a nickname for [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Felipe[/name_m]. What do you think of something similar to it like [name_m]Pip[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] or [name_m]Philip[/name_m]?
I agree with the pp that [name_u]Flip[/name_u] is a cute nn for [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Felipe[/name_m].
[name_u]Flip[/name_u] [name_m]Saunders[/name_m] is another well known [name_u]Flip[/name_u]. He works for the Minnesota Timberwolves right now but used to coach the Pistons I believe. He exclusively goes by [name_u]Flip[/name_u] but his real name is [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Philip[/name_m] with [name_m]Grant[/name_m]!
[name_u]Flip[/name_u] is actually derived from [name_m]Philip[/name_m] which sounds and looks great with your sibset.
[name_m]Filip[/name_m] ad [name_u]Flip[/name_u] are both sometimes used as full first names in [name_u]Holland[/name_u], but [name_m]Philip[/name_m] is still the most common spelling and I would prefer that spelling too.
It gives him the opportunity to be [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_u]Phil[/name_u] in a business environment and [name_u]Flip[/name_u] for close friends and family.
If I knew a kid named [name_u]Flip[/name_u] I’d be inclined to call him “Flipper”… like the dolphin from the old TV show. (Am I dating myself?)
I wouldn’t name my child that, certainly not as a full name.
Yes! I feel like I’ve definitely heard [name_u]Flip[/name_u] as a nn for [name_m]Philip[/name_m] before, and I like it a lot!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] it as a nn for [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]!
