Florence: sweet or just too old ladyish? nicknames?

I think it’s old-ladyish. I’ve never met a [name]Florence[/name] so all I have to go on is the old-lady image. A lot of the time when I meet someone with a name they will change my feelings about the name. So it’s very possible to change my opinion if I met a sweet girl named [name]Florence[/name].

I adoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the name [name]Florence[/name]. I so wish DH loved it as much as I do. I like the nicknames [name]Flo[/name], [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Flossie[/name] best <3

[name]Love[/name] love love [name]Florence[/name]. My favorite nn would be [name]Florrie[/name].

I love [name]Flora[/name], but [name]Florence[/name] does nothing for me. It doesn’t seem pretty, feminine, or sweet.

I really do like [name]Florence[/name] but much prefer [name]Flora[/name].

[name]Florence[/name] with the nn [name]Flora[/name] would be a real winner for me!

I adore [name]Florence[/name]! I do t think its old ladyish at all! For nn’s I like [name]Flo[/name], [name]Florrie[/name], [name]Floss[/name], [name]Flossie[/name], [name]Flora[/name], [name]Wren[/name]… I think you could even pull off fritz or fritzie which is one of my all time favourite nicknames… So many choices!!

I love it! I prefer [name]Flora[/name], but [name]Florence[/name] is very pretty too. [name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Flora[/name] [name]Jane[/name]?

I don’t love [name]Florence[/name], feels very old and tired out.

Sweet. Yes, it’s old-ladyish but that’s the appeal. Musty but so wearable. [name]Flossie[/name] is my favorite nickname for [name]Florence[/name]. [name]Florence[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is fabulous.

[name]Florence[/name] is refreshing and beautiful. Nn’s could be Renni, Renci, or Flicka. The only problem I have with the name is the nn [name]Flo[/name].

I know a girl about 18 named [name]Florence[/name], goes by [name]Flo[/name]. I’ve never heard her teased about Aunt [name]Flo[/name] if that’s your hesitation bigsweater and other previous posters.

Vintage/old lady names are in vogue, so [name]Florence[/name] will fit right in with [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], and [name]Josephine[/name]!

I’m still so torn. I really love [name]Florence[/name], but it just doesn’t have a nickname I’m really connecting with. And I’m a nicknamer, lol. Thanks for all the people who said it was usable though

I know this is old but, I have a 15 month old [name]Florence[/name] and it gets nothing but praise as a name. It helps that she is as cute as a button

I love this name, it feels vintage not old ladyish to me, I can absolutely see it someone young. I think [name]Flora[/name] is rather sweet as a nickname, although it’s lovely as a name in its own right.

For me, it’s just a name that I never liked, but I picture it more on a little girl than an other lady, contrary to everyone else. I wouldn’t use [name]Florence[/name] [name]Jane[/name] just because combos that end in the same letter or sound tend to be choppy. [name]Florence[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Cassidy[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Marina[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Isobel[/name] or something along those lines would flow better. As a nickname [name]Flora[/name] or [name]Ren[/name] would be cute/

I love [name]Florence[/name]! I’d use either [name]Flo[/name] or [name]Rory[/name].

I think the name is sweet. I would nn her [name]Flora[/name] though.
