Florence: sweet or just too old ladyish? nicknames?

What do you think of [name]Florence[/name]? What nicknames would you use for a [name]Florence[/name]?

I’d probably use it with a quite simple middle name (maybe [name]Jane[/name])

for me too old-lady but i dont mind as a middle name. - [name]Just[/name] some Ideas as first & middle names. - [name]Florence[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]/[name]Hannah[/name] [name]Florence[/name], [name]Emily[/name] [name]Florence[/name], [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Florence[/name].

I new a [name]Florence[/name] from school she was called [name]Flo[/name]/[name]Flossie[/name].

I like [name]Florence[/name] and prefer it as a middle name.

I quite like the nickname [name]Florrie[/name].

Sweet, definitely sweet. Old ladyish? Maybe, but I don’t think it’s really a big deal. I’d like to meet a little [name]Florence[/name].

I like it a lot, it doesn’t feel old lady-ish to me.

[name]Florence[/name] is vintage and sweet. It’s quite popular in [name]England[/name] so there are actually some people out there who aren’t hung up on the “old-lady” label. I think it’s quite pretty when said aloud.

I think [name]Florence[/name] is beautiful - not too old-lady at all. I actually came across a 3/4 year old [name]Florence[/name] a few months ago who went by [name]Florrie[/name]. I thought that was so cute.

A friend just named her baby [name]Florence[/name]. It’s not really my style, but I think it can be cute. I really detest [name]Flo[/name] but [name]Ren[/name] is a cute nn.

I like [name]Florence[/name] and don’t find it old ladyish at all. I like [name]Florrie[/name] or [name]Renee[/name] as nicknames.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Florence[/name]. multiple amazing namesakes!

nn options:, [name]Flo[/name], Florri, Renni, Rence, Renci, Fen, Fennie, Nightingale (hehe)

Yeah I don’t think I like [name]Flo[/name] much either.

Nickname suggestions I’ve found:

[name]Floss[/name]/ie
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Lore[/name]
[name]Lora[/name]
[name]Rennie[/name]
Fry (?!)

I quite like [name]Lora[/name], though it’s a stretch. It’s a shame [name]Florence[/name] doesn’t have more nicknames - I like the name and it would honour family for me, but I like to have cute nicknames too.

I like [name]Florence[/name], it was my grandma’s name so it is slightly old ladyish to me but in a vintage way and not an"ugly" way. She went by [name]Flossie[/name].

I don’t find [name]Florence[/name] old ladyish anymore, probably because I really like [name]Florence[/name] [name]Welch[/name] and she has become the main association with the name for me. Because it is a place name it feels little more modern to me. I love [name]Florence[/name] to be honest. I think it is lovely, and underused. I do worry that it might explode and become trendy and popular. But maybe it won’t. I wouldn’t use a nickname for [name]Florence[/name]. The name is so lovely, it seems like a shame to shorten it. [name]Flo[/name] or [name]Flora[/name] would be the most intuitive nickname for me.

I love [name]Florence[/name]. For nicknames, I like: [name]Flora[/name] & [name]Ren[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Florence[/name] it’s very popular here in the UK & definitely not old ladyish. I like the nn [name]Flo[/name] but [name]Ren[/name]/[name]Flora[/name] are great alternatives

I adore the name [name]Florence[/name], and my favorite nn is [name]Fleur[/name].

I actually think it works really well in modern day. I like the nn [name]Flo[/name] or [name]Florrie[/name], but I think [name]Flo[/name] would work best for a common nn. I do really like [name]Florence[/name]!

[name]Florence[/name] is really sweet and vintage-chic! I’m not a nickname person but if I were I would use [name]Flora[/name].

I know quite a few little [name]Florence[/name]'s, it’s very popular in upper middle/preppy circles in the UK.

I love the idea of the nn Firenze!

I was just searching and daydreaming about the name [name]Florence[/name] when this thread came up at the top of the girls forum. I guess I love the name then.

I wonder if you can get away with the nickname [name]Fern[/name] …
