Food inspired names?

would you name your children after a food? if so, what would those names/foods be?

Yes, we love our food.

I’d choose [name_u]Pepper[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_u]Coco[/name_u] for a girl and [name_u]Bay[/name_u] or [name_u]Roux[/name_u] for a boy.

I love [name_f]Persimmon[/name_f], but for a boy!
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f] for a girl.
Recently, I have started to really like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] for boys or girls. (I’ve always quite liked it and now I can’t-stop-thinking-about-it like it )

Technically you can eat a lot of those flowers :joy: I’ve heard [name_u]Dandelion[/name_u] honey is good

So we do name our kids after like herbs and spices like [name_u]Basil[/name_u], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. Then some fruits like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. And nicknames like [name_f]Cherry[/name_f], Sweet pea, [name_f]Peaches[/name_f], [name_f]Sugar[/name_f], etc. I don’t know if there’s any “true” foods like I don’t think anyone is named Sandwich or Chicken but it seems foods associated with plants/herbs are useable.

I forgot [name_f]Mint[/name_f]! Could be a nn for [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] but I like it as a full name for a boy too

Others I’ve thought of:
[name_f]Waterlily[/name_f], Lonicera, Piccata, [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], and [name_u]Holly[/name_u] for a girl
Maybe Ricotta and Feta too

Asiago and [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] for a boy
Maybe Lemony, Peacan, Pecorino, and Reggano

I also like [name_u]Lotus[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_u]Berry[/name_u], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for both genders and maybe Hazelnut “Hazel”

baby bump/pregnancy: Ravioli, Linguine, Fettuccini, Tortellini, Gnocchi and all sorts of pasta names -inspired by a post on [name_f]Quora[/name_f] lol also [name_u]Bao[/name_u], Cannoli, [name_u]Mango[/name_u], and [name_u]Peanut[/name_u]

Also I’m surprised [name_m]Oreo[/name_m], [name_m]Kale[/name_m], [name_u]Mango[/name_u], and [name_f]Persimmon[/name_f] showed up as a name lol

I wouldn’t name my child after a food, per se, but I think food-nature names like Clementine, Honey, and Maple are really cute.

Sage, Lavender, and Saffron are all names I’d actually use (and have seen used IRL). So, yes, though the food isn’t the reason why (they’re all really more color or nature names to me personally).

I also know someone called Peach, but I’m pretty sure that’s not her legal name.

I knew someone who knew a Kale.

And my friend knows someone named Tangerine, which I always thought was kind of cool.
