What do you guys think? I really dislike For®est for a boy, but [name_m]Forest[/name_m] for a girl rings like [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] or that sort of woodsy name, and it’s really grown on me very quickly. But what would others think/feel when they met a girl named [name_m]Forest[/name_m]?
I don’t see why not. I would think it was nice. [name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] , [name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] or [name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] would be cute.
I remember watching something with a girl called [name_m]Forest[/name_m] in it. I think it’s pretty sweet
To me, word names generally work on either gender (e.g. [name_m]Cove[/name_m] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_m]Walter[/name_m], Evergreen [name_f]Anne[/name_f], etc.). [name_m]Forest[/name_m] sounds lovely on a girl, imo!
I agree with the above! Like you said it fits in with the naturey theme!
I would definitely think boy if I heard of a child named [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. But as previous posters have mentioned, it is a nature/word name, and they often can work for both genders. In my mind this would be similar to naming a boy [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Ivory[/name_u], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] or [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. (Girl word/nature names that are similar popularity to [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] for a boy.) Doable but unexpected and probably will often be assumed to be the opposite gender.
I’d pair it with a more obviously feminine middle name as pps have suggested.
ETA: [name_f]Essie[/name_f] or [name_f]Estie[/name_f] would make a cute nickname for [name_m]Forest[/name_m]!
If I saw it on paper I would assume it was a boy. But there is no logical reason for that and I actually really like it for a girl.
I really like [name_m]Forest[/name_m] as a Girl’s name. I see no problem with it. It goes nicely with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
I’m pretty sure that there was a girl called “[name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_u]Glen[/name_u]” in Australian soap Neighbours about 15 years ago.
If I heard the name, yes, I would assume it was for a male. But that’s just because of [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] Gump, hehe. Although spelled differently. I actually think it’s a cute name for a girl, especially if paired with a feminine name.
