Forever A Mistake?

I really like [name_m]Rossy[/name_m]–like [name_m]Ross[/name_m] with ee at the end, not like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. [name_m]Will[/name_m] it always be a kre8if spelling of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], or is there hope for it? It’s a GP, anyway, so be honest.

I know two people with [name_m]Rossi[/name_m] as a last name, so that’s what first came to mind. I didn’t even think of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I could see it being cute on a girl, similar in style with [name_f]Grier[/name_f] or McClain.

No- I think [name_m]Rossy[/name_m] is a perfectly legitimate name in its own right, and not at all a creative spelling of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. They have a completely different feel: [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] fits in with spunky, earthy botanical names like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], whereas [name_m]Rossy[/name_m] fits in more with the jazzy unisex names. Think [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_u]Andy[/name_u], etc. I think it is a great choice.

I wouldn’t think [name_m]Rossy[/name_m] was a creative version/spelling of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. It does seem rather masculine though, because of the similarity (especially in spelling) to [name_m]Ross[/name_m]. I’d guess it was a nickname for a boy named [name_m]Ross[/name_m] as “ee” is a common ending for pet names, like [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] for [name_m]John[/name_m]. I also thought of [name_f]Portia[/name_f] de [name_m]Rossi[/name_m], some will like that association and others won’t.

It doesn’t at all remind me of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I immediately thought of Martini & [name_m]Rossi[/name_m]; anyone who has mixed a cocktail would probably think the same.

I didn’t pronounce it like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] when I first saw it. I think it’s too nicknamey to be used on it’s own. I do like it as a nickname for [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] thought
