Forgotten homonyms

Yesterday I was thinking about how some names become so common that we forget any homonyms they may have!

For example
[name]Jean[/name] – as in pants
[name]Gene[/name] – as in what you get from your parents
[name]Gale[/name] – a storm

Any others you can think of?

I was just thinking of the name Sophus today, making a list of international names that have come to Norway and died (a Sophus in Norway today would be a cat). I think it’s a gorgeous name that I would like to give back to the world, if it wasn’t for the fact that it sounds like sofas, as in one sofa, two sofas, where do we put the sofas, honey?, sofas… Bummer…
And this isn’t exactly the same, but every time I see [name]Violet[/name] I read violent, and it freaks me out! I can never use [name]Violet[/name] for that reason… I tried resorting to [name]Viola[/name], which is prettier actually, but apparently means “rape” in Spanish… o.O I’ll just lay off it for now… ^^

I can’t think of any other, but this is a good topic, and I’d hate to see it die without more additions to the list… I consciously chose to use [name]Gale[/name] over [name]Gail[/name] because it means storm, or powerful winds ^^ I love gales, and I love to use at least one word/nature/virtue/place name in my combos… It adds some spice!

You forgot a few. [name]Peg[/name] is something you hang things on, [name]Bill[/name] is what you pay, [name]Will[/name] is a piece of paper, [name]Bob[/name] is what you do in water, [name]Jim[/name] is physical education…

Funny, my family and I used to play a game with names like this, which might have helped me become the nameaholic I am today. Brings back so many memories.
