So I’m fairly sure I’m going to use a variation of [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] if 5 is a boy (it’s a family name I’ve wanted to use for a while), I’m of using the single r version but I want to use the “correct” spelling. Are both acceptable?
I’d also like to use [name_m]Herman[/name_m] as the middle, does [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_m]Herman[/name_m] Last name sound alright?
[name_m]Ty[/name_m]! I’m trying to be prepared for this little [name_f]May[/name_f] babe
Absolutely! To me, Forrest seems like more of a “name” name, as the one I’ve encountered on people in real life, but Forest is a word name that evokes a really rich natural landscape. I think Forrest might be most people’s default spelling, if that matters to you, but I personally like the simplicity of Forest a bit more.
Forest Herman flows well to me! A very simple, grounded combo.
[name_u]Forest[/name_u] is my personal default, but [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] also looks “right” to me. I also prefer [name_u]Forest[/name_u] because it loses the Confederate general association.
I prefer [name_u]Forest[/name_u], why complicate a lovely natural image with that extra letter (similarly I prefer [name_u]Rain[/name_u] to [name_u]Raine[/name_u] etc)
Both spellings are completely acceptable! I think [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] has a more ‘name’ like presence whereas [name_u]Forest[/name_u] feels more whimsical and feels more connected to nature. Personally I prefer we X is the ethereal majestic vibe of [name_u]Forest[/name_u]
[name_u]Forest[/name_u] has been a favourite of mine for along time
As for [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_m]Herman[/name_m] he’s gorgeous really distinguished with a southern flair
I love [name_u]Forest[/name_u]! Personally, I prefer only one R because of the nature reference and simplicity, but both spellings are definitely acceptable. I think they are actually very similar popularity wise too so I wouldn’t worry about one being the “correct” spelling over the other. [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_m]Herman[/name_m] is so handsome!
I love [name_u]Forest[/name_u] and MUCH prefer this spelling, I like the nature images it evokes and avoiding the association with the confederate general is important to me. It would be high on my list for a future boy if I didn’t have a [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (trying to avoid names starting with the same sound). Congratulations!
I like [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] better, it makes it more of a name to me. [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_m]Herman[/name_m] is ok, not the biggest fan of [name_m]Herman[/name_m] but if it is in honor of someone then it would work.
I go back and forth on which spelling I like better. I like [name_u]Forest[/name_u] for the imagery/nature connotations and I like [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] because it feels like a “fuller” name, plus I like the look of the double r.
