Fourth girl and we still need help!

Hello again everyone! I’m the mama to Eden, Blair and Thea and in my other post you guys have given me so many options, we had over 250 which is crazy!!! We were able to narrow it down to 17 names. However we still need help. Please tell us from this list which one would work better with our girls’ names. (My husband loves them all and doesn’t mind the name I choose so I need opinions from others)

Flora
Posie
Isla
Aria
Indie
Cora
Scout
Juno
Cleo
Riley
Freya
Mabel
Iris
Greer
Maeve
June
Darcy

These are my favorites from your list with [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], and:

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] * my personal favorite

Since each of your girls so far have a different initial and also a different ending sound, it might be nice to continue the pattern.

All lovely options!

One thing I really enjoy about your naming style is that your daughters each have a different sound at the end of their names. With sibsets, staying within the pattern feels appealing so you don’t end up with two matchy names in the midst of a more cohesive and inclusive pattern. For that reason, I would eliminate [name_f]Flora[/name_f] (which I love!), [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_u]Aria[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and [name_u]Greer[/name_u].

[name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] all have a softness and a strong backbone to them. I love [name_f]Posie[/name_f] but feel like it may be too whimsical. [name_u]Indie[/name_u] and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] feel too modern for your sibset. I know [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is on an upswing, but it just hasn’t revived from the grandma vibes for me like [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

I could go on, but I think the names that sound most fitting with your daughters names are [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u]. And if I were to really narrow that down, I’d cut any names with repeat sounds at all - which you also neatly avoided with your three daughters! This would leave a short list of [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].

my favorites are cleo, greer, indie, iris, june, maeve, posie and scout!

eden, blaire and thea are lovely names and they all sound girly and pretty to me.

based on this, i would go with iris, june, maeve or posie :cherry_blossom:

What a gorgeous list of names to choose from! And I love your older girls names too.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites would be…
[name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and…
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u]

Having a real name crush on [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] at the moment! It’s so cute and spunky. And [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is a personal favourite too. It would be so sweet as a youngest sibling.

My favorites are Cleo, Cora, Mabel, Maeve, Flora, & Freya! (How funny, 2 of each letter lol) If I had narrow down, I’d say Flora, Cleo, & Mabel sound amazing next to Eden, Blair, & Thea :purple_heart:

I also adore Isla, Aria, & Posie, but these do feel a bit softer compared to her sisters, in case you mind at all. (I wouldn’t let that stop me though!)

You have a great list so whichever name you choose will be perfection!

I agree with @novabloom that I think it’s gorgeous that each of your children’s names have a very individualistic sound. I would definitely want to continue with this. Therefore I would eliminate any names from the list that have repeated sounds so that eliminates as @novabloom said [name_f]Flora[/name_f] (I also love), [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Aria[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], & [name_u]Greer[/name_u].

Going back to your list after eliminating those names I think [name_f]Posie[/name_f] & [name_u]Indie[/name_u] are lovely but lacks the strength that your other daughters names have. I feel [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are too vintage next to [name_u]Eden[/name_u] & [name_u]Blair[/name_u] but would work with [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. Finally I think [name_u]Riley[/name_u] & [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] have such a strong surname vibe so looses the individualistic vibe of [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. So for me those names are also eliminated.

This leads [name_u]Scout[/name_u], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] & [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. These four contenders are fabulous in there own ways. [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is a lovely literacy name which feels cool with your daughters names. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is an elegant Irish mythological name that I think sounds like she belongs in your sibling set. [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is a bouncy happy name that again works but my favourite is definitely [name_f]Juno[/name_f]!

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] is a gorgeous mythological name that has a great history but feels modern so to me is the perfect fit for your sibling set as they share the same vibe. Again she feels individualistic with the strong ‘O’ ending and is generally such a fun choice. I absolutely love [name_f]Juno[/name_f] for you :orange_heart:

Wow what a cool sibset and list! How cool to have 17 names husband approved to choose from (a little jealous)

Personally I would remove [name_u]Indie[/name_u], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Aria[/name_u] as I think they’ve peaked with popularity and might date (this is dependent on your area)

[name_u]Greer[/name_u] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] sound too similar
Same with [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f]

I like how your girls names have different initials and different endings - it would be cool to keep that.

[name_f]My[/name_f] top picks are:
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]

[name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is my favourite  all the best

I think I really like
[name_u]Eden[/name_u], blair, thea and:

[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]

Those five flow the best to me with the names.

Also, if you want to go for a theme, I’d pick a 5 letter name (because then you have 4, 5, 4, 5) just for fun xD

Okay bare with me this maybe a long and analytical post but it’s just how my brain works .

These are all stunning and soo hard to pick! If I had to break down these stunning contenders I would first cut the names with similar endings to [name_u]Eden[/name_u] , [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] so unfortunately we lose

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] , [name_f]Isla[/name_f] , [name_u]Aria[/name_u] , [name_f]Freya[/name_f] , [name_u]Greer[/name_u]

Which leaves us with [name_f]Posie[/name_f] , [name_u]Indie[/name_u] , [name_u]Scout[/name_u] , [name_f]Juno[/name_f] , [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] , [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] , [name_f]Iris[/name_f] , [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] , [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]

To my ear [name_u]Indie[/name_u] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] have a lot of repetitive sounds to [name_m]Ed[/name_m]en indie , iris Blair so unfortunately they would be cut too which leaves

[name_f]Posie[/name_f], [name_u]Scout[/name_u], [name_f]Juno[/name_f] , [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] , [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] , [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] .
So now I would look at the meaning and popularity according to SSA

[name_f]Posie[/name_f] - since 2000 [name_f]Posie[/name_f] has not been in the top 1000 . It means small flower . Cons : spelling - may go through life constantly correcting [name_f]Posey[/name_f], [name_f]Posy[/name_f] etc.

[name_u]Scout[/name_u]- has only recently made the top 1000 and in 2020 was ranked 874 jumping from 964 in 2018 - so it feels like this name is certainly on the rise !

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] - means queen of the heavens and is Latin in origin. Not currently ranked in the SSA top 1000

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]- Greek , meaning to praise , ranked 885 in 2020 . Cons may be confused with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]

[name_u]Riley[/name_u] - has been increasingly popular for girls in the past 20 years and currently sits at 33 . Irish in origin meaning courageous. This name is the most popular on your list

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - means loveable and is from [name_f]Amabel[/name_f] . Also climbing in popularity in 2012 this name wasn’t on the top 1000 , and is now sitting at 427

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - Irish for she who intoxicates . In 2020 is ranked 173 for popularity. and seems to be on a steady incline

[name_u]June[/name_u] ranked at 182 this name is also growing rapidly according to SSA. Latin in origin , for the goddess [name_f]Juno[/name_f] ( who the month was named after)

[name_u]Darcy[/name_u] Irish or [name_u]French[/name_u] in meaning. I could find 2 meanings “ the dark one or from Arcy . [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] has not been ranked in the top 1000 in the past 20 years

From these names , meaning and rankings I see some similarities between [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] which with their similarities , I think adds to them !

Your daughters names are currently ranked at
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] (130)
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] (333)
Thea( 303)

So based on popularity alone I would say [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] , [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] fit the best with your current daughters as they all sit outside of the top 100 but are recognizable but not super common , easy to pronounce and spell.

[name_u]Eden[/name_u] -4 letter
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] - 5 letters
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] - 4 letter

I appreciate small themes and symmetry so if you cared about continuing a pattern a 5 letter name could work - which leaves [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]

Maeve-5 letters
[name_u]June[/name_u] -4 letter
Mabel-5 letters

[name_f]Posie[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u] , [name_u]Scout[/name_u] , [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] - which I had cut due to spelling and not being similarly ranked in popularity are also 5 letters

So if your still with me I think if I had to pick one it would be [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] . It has its own meaning , is 5 letters which continues a theme , is similar to other names on your list and sits with your current daughters names with popularity

I’m sorry that was so exhaustive ! I blame these sleepless nights !

I like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], and [name_f]Posie[/name_f]. I do think the names ending in “a” might feel too similar to [name_f]Thea[/name_f], particularly [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. But all the names are beautiful!

I love [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] together! [name_f]My[/name_f] number one favourite on your list is definitely [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. I love then how well it works with [name_f]Thea[/name_f] whilst [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] are a bit more unisex. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] has the same freshness and brightness as your other three daughters, which I love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:.

I also adore [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Indie[/name_u].

Order of favourites:

  1. [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
  2. [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  3. [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_u]Indie[/name_u]

For what it’s worth the only I really don’t think works well is [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and maybe also [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. Alongside your other three these names give almost a witchy vibe (which isn’t a bad thing!) making it feel distinctly different to the others.
