I love Franqueline [name_f]Adele[/name_f]! I think if you spell it Franqueline it’s much more feminine.

I sincerely hope this is a joke.

Its a no from me.

[name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] is ok as unisex names go, [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] has a nice flow. But Franqueline seems really strange and made up to me. Is it a real name or a smoosh of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]? I think stick with [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] or [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]/[name_f]Francine[/name_f]/[name_f]Frances[/name_f].

I agree with pp. stick with [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] for [name_f]Frances[/name_f].

I agree Franqueline seems to be trying too hard for me. I know a 70 year old woman named [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] and she pulls it off, so although it is not normally my style, I would say go with [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m]. That said, I like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] but really love the [name_m]German[/name_m] version which I think translates well: [name_f]Franziska[/name_f].

I can’t say I love it, but I prefer [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] over Franqueline. The latter looks super weird. Would you call her [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]? The addition of [name_f]Adele[/name_f] helps the name a lot.

Not a fan, sorry. If you’re looking for the nickname “[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]”, than I prefer [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. If [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] is to honor a family member, than I think its OK in the middle spot. [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] for example.

If you must, I like the [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] spelling. Franquiline seems to me like it’s tying too hard.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] my opinions

Honestly, it’s on the same level as:

Fredlyn
Benjerite
Tomarina

I don’t even like classic feminization ([name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Georgette[/name_f], [name_f]Frederica[/name_f], [name_f]Roberta[/name_f]) and this one feels rather ridiculous to me. I’d have a hard time not laughing out loud if someone introduced themselves by that name.

I’ve given my thoughts on [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] (which were “please don’t do that to a kid”) on the other thread.

Franqueline looks like it should be pronounced [name_m]Frank[/name_m]-a-line. All i think of is Frankenstein.

If the nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is what you’re after, you should know that you can get that nn regardless of her real name. My mom’s nickname as a child was always “[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]” and her name is nowhere near [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. Similarly, my family calls my youngest niece Scoob or Scooby on a regular basis, and it if nothing like her actual name. I grew up with a girl who went by Fuzzy until she was in her early 20s, and her family still calls her that. Her real name is [name_f]Rachel[/name_f].

If [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is what you want, you can name her anything and call her [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. She call be [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], or [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. It genuinely doesn’t matter where nns come from, they don’t have to be obviously from the first name.

No… just no.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], or even [name_u]Fran[/name_u] if you must…

I totally love feminizations. My name is a feminization and I’ve always loved it and felt special having a male to female name. I actually think Franqueline is very unique and very cool sounding. I love the transition of the “K” sound by the “qu”, it makes it a bit more feminine. I even like Franquelyn or Franquelynn, very cute. I say go for it, especially if you love it… you will be able to make your daughter feel even more special for having it.

This is interesting. I actually can’t decide if I like it or not. I am a sucker for [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] et al. which is what this reminds me of so I think it could grow on me. The nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is very cute. It’s your child so if you love it then go with it!

It is perfectly acceptable for a girl! But I would definitely prefer [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] or [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m]…not Franqueline!

Good God, please don’t use either spelling. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: the y doesn’t make a name any more feminine or “cool.” If you’re going to use a name, spell it right.
Similarly for Franqueline, the Frenchified spelling doesn’t make it any more [name_m]French[/name_m], and I’d be more inclined to pronounce it fran-kay-leen rather than frank-linn which I’m assuming is what you’re looking for.
On a separate note, I find [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] to be a very masculine name, mostly because of the harsh “frank” syllable in the front. Plus, there’s not a whole ton of great nickname options if she turns out to be ultra-feminine (and I’ve never met anyone who actually goes by their middle name, so that is not a fallback). [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]? [name_f]Lin[/name_f]?

[name_f]Adela[/name_f] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], however, is interesting and quirky. Please don’t misunderstand my comment as outright dislike; I just think this one is better in the middle slot.

My first thought was “troll”. Which is the response this poor kid will be getting all her life if the OP is serious.

I love [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]/[name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] on a girl. [name_m]How[/name_m] is it any different than [name_f]Jacklyn[/name_f]/ [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]? I have two grandfathers named [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] and after seeing these threads am considering [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] for future daughters with either [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] as a nn.

I saw your other thread when it was at something like 5 pages so I didn’t comment (everyone had already said it all) but since you didn’t take anything they said to heart, I’ll add my comments.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] is a boys name. I don’t necessarily always mind when a boys name is use don a girl. Some names I’ve seen on girls recently like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u], at least I can understand the appeal even if I don’t like it. [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] isn’t even remotely feminine. It’s a terrible choice to steal from the boys.

On spelling – [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m] is terrible. The Y isn’t interchangeable with whatever letter you feel and doesn’t make it more girly as it’s still pronounced [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]. No one is going to know that Y is in there when she says “Hello, I’m [name_m]Franklin[/name_m].” It’s not like people go around spelling their names at each other. She’s not going to say “Hello, I’m F-R-A-N-K-L-Y-N. [name_m]Franklyn[/name_m].” The Franqueline spelling makes want to say fran-kweh-line and makes me think of Frankenstein. It’s terrible. Misspelling a name doesn’t make it more feminine or girly, it just looks like you don’t know how to spell, I’m sorry. Since I’m sure you know how to spell, please spell it right if you’re going to do it.

On the nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] – I saw in your other thread you really just want the nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and you don’t like [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], or [name_u]Francis[/name_u]. And that you were also having a hard time find boys names with [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] in them. Here’s my contribution there.

[name_u]Fran[/name_u]
Franchelle
[name_f]Franci[/name_f] – which is [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and it’s a real name ([name_m]German[/name_m]) not a nn that means “free one or frenchwoman”
[name_f]Franca[/name_f]/[name_f]Franka[/name_f]
Franqueira
Franzea

If you seriously want a boys name and want it to end in the lin/lyn sound like you said in the other thread, I think these would work better:

[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
Celyn
Cemlyn
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] – which was originally a boys name that has already transitioned to the girl side
Gwenlyn
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] – again, it’s like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m]
Acelin
[name_f]Catlin[/name_f]
Jerolin
[name_f]Roslin[/name_f]
Wendelin

All of those, except [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m], as so rarely used that at least they work. If you’re set on a boys name, pick one better than [name_m]Franklin[/name_m].

I also am gunning for switching it around. If you absolutely need [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], put it in the middle. [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] is fine and you can still call her [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and just say “It’s from her middle name”

Terrible. [name_m]Just[/name_m] terrible.
