Frederick?

Hello all,

My husband and I are into [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] at the moment.

Thoughts?

Also, what is the best way to spell it? [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]? [name_m]Frederic[/name_m], [name_m]Frederik[/name_m]?

[name_u]Love[/name_u], love, love [name_m]Frederick[/name_m].

One of my very favorites. We’d probablyuse it except I dislike it with our last name. I like the [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] spelling best.

I love this name, but [name_m]Frederic[/name_m] is my favorite spelling by far. So, so, so handsome!

My favorite boy name for baby #2! I like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] best.

I like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] best but [name_m]Frederic[/name_m] too. Great name—not a fan of [name_m]Fred[/name_m] or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], so much, but [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is dashing.

I love [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]! And the nickname [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] is swoon worthy!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it spelt [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!

I love this name to bits, and my favourite spelling is [name_m]Frederic[/name_m].

Aww yay! Thanks everyone. I was worried some people might think it old or stuffy sounding, so this is great to hear

I love [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!

It was on our list but I just could not get behind the nicknames, [name_m]Fred[/name_m] or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. After the fact I read that [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] is a know nickname - [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is handsome and distinguished for an adult, [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] is perfect for a spunky little kid.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] IT! It’s our #1 boys name at the moment, and I think [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] is a really fresh nickname.

To me, [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is a strong, polished, and handsome classic. I like the [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]/[name_m]Frederik[/name_m] spelling equally. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is probably easier in English speaking countries, but [name_m]Frederik[/name_m] always look so Scandinavian-cool and minimal to me.

Anyhow, I’m a huge fan of this name. Go for it!

I don’t understand the idea that names that “sound old” are undesirable? You are an adult for a far longer time than you are a child.

[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is a strong, handsome, and very usable name.

I really like it, my preference would be [name_m]Frederic[/name_m].

I definitely have a soft spot for [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], nn [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]

I like Fredrix the best

I like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!

I have Frédéric on my list but we probably won’t use it - if we do, we’d go with [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. I love Frédéric, but it’s pretty confusing.

I think [name_m]Fredric[/name_m] looks better.

[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!

I like just [name_m]Fredrick[/name_m] without the “er” in the middle, in other words I prefer 2 syllables instead of 3.
