We want another [name_m]French[/name_m] name for this one but are conscious of not having a name that is just butchered in English or said completely differently. Though a slight anglicised attempt would be fine and we aren’t bothered about.
Our list at the moment we can’t seem to narrow it down at all.
I like old fashioned names some of which could (and do) get side eyed on a child in [name_f]France[/name_f]
[name_m]Albert[/name_m] (DHs favourite but I worry that [name_m]Al[/name_m]-burt just ruins it)
[name_m]Henri[/name_m]
[name_m]Flavien[/name_m]
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_u]Fran[/name_u]çois
Émile
Étienne
Clément
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]
[name_m]Didier[/name_m]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_u]Claude[/name_u]
I like [name_u]Blaise[/name_u]. [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] would be hard to be butcher [name_f]IMO[/name_f] but it still has a [name_m]French[/name_m] feel to it.
My favourites on your list are [name_m]Albert[/name_m], [name_m]Emile[/name_m] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u]. Both are great names that work in almost any language, although there might be a difference in pronunciation. They all work great with [name_u]Michel[/name_u] too. If I could only pick one, I’d go with [name_m]Emile[/name_m].
It’s a shame [name_u]Michel[/name_u] is too close to [name_m]Marcel[/name_m], which is definitely my favourite [name_m]French[/name_m] name.
Most of these name are not given anymore, they are too outdated (not old fashioned).
I would go with [name_m]Henri[/name_m], [name_m]Emile[/name_m], Étienne, Clément or [name_f]Camille[/name_f], my favorite with [name_m]Emile[/name_m] (but [name_m]Didier[/name_m], [name_u]Claude[/name_u], [name_u]Fran[/name_u]çois, [name_u]Dominique[/name_u], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] are my parents’ generation). I do love [name_m]Albert[/name_m], but my friends ([name_m]French[/name_m]) don’t!
Oh I know a number of them aren’t used anymore (I’m from a Francophone country). That doesn’t put me off, the likes of [name_m]Didier[/name_m] etc
The more and more I think of [name_m]Albert[/name_m] the more and more I think it is too [name_u]Roux[/name_u]-y so I think it is off the list.
Ohh how could I forget about Arsène !
[name_m]Baptiste[/name_m] was on my list originally but my DH said no, that where we live people will just think it is overly religious
hmmm Pacôme
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Henri[/name_m], [name_m]Flavien[/name_m], [name_m]Clement[/name_m] and [name_m]Emile[/name_m] for you, as well as a load of @mccharlie’s marvellous suggestions.

My two favorite [name_m]French[/name_m] names are [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] and [name_m]Fraser[/name_m], so obviously from your list, [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] gets my vote.
I know a little boy named [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] and he goes by Eti for short, which is cute. I also like the name [name_m]Olivier[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastien[/name_m], [name_f]Stephane[/name_f] and [name_m]Leon[/name_m] (sorry, I don’t have the proper marks on it, but I’m sure you can look it up). Good luck!
Étienne and [name_m]Emile[/name_m] are by far my favorites! [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] is such a beautiful name for a boy :). [name_m]Emile[/name_m] is also lovely.
