I never heard about these names! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know the meaning or etymology behind them?

Here :)

Gloire

  • Means glory given to a handful of boys and girls since the 80s

Élisée

  • French version of Elisha

Philogone

  • French version of Philogonos meaning loving one’s children.

Maurille

  • French version of Maurilius / Maurus.

Athanase

  • French version of Athanasius meaning immortal. Since records began about 1/4 of bearers have been female but it’s a rare name.

Venance

  • French version of Venantius meaning hunting. Incredible rare with only a handful of bearers of both sexes since records began.

Most of these have probably been used as female names in honor of Saints.
