This request may seem a little odd, so I’m hoping someone else gets what I’m talking about haha!
I’ve recently grown tired of my girls list, and have come to the conclusion that, although pretty, I find them a little stuffy, or precious.
So I’m looking for the first names you think of when I ask for ‘fresh’ girls names.
Names that are pretty, but also a little spunky, a little unexpected and carefree.
I feel you! There are some names I love still, but I am looking for new names that are just fresh
Cielle - This is one of the first names that popped in my head, I love this name for so many reasons, it is a [name_m]French[/name_m] name that means ‘[name_f]Heaven[/name_f]/[name_f]Heavenly[/name_f]’ or ‘[name_u]Sky[/name_u]’, I find it beautiful and elegant and I love the nickname possibilities! [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. I also find it a name that can grow with a child
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] - Surprisingly I have fallen in love with this one! I used to really dislike it and found it to be to dated, but now I love it! And I think the nickname [name_f]Dot[/name_f] is so cute!
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] - Yet another classic name I have grown to love! I find this name just simply gorgeous! I think the name is simply beautiful and it rolls of the tongue so easily
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]/[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] - I think these two names are just so beautiful! I adore the simpleness and beauty of [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], and the elegance of [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but I feel it is coming to be used more often and I think these are two other options I prefer
Idril - This is defintely a name I have fallen to love, it is a Sindarin female name that means ‘Sparkling Brilliance’ and even though it is an elvish, I adore it and find that it could be a name that could catch on
Alona - This name I find beautiful, it’s Hebrew and isn’t hard to pronounce, I like it because it is different from [name_f]Elena[/name_f] or [name_f]Alana[/name_f], and it has the short o sound that makes it stand out. I love the name and find it beautiful
[name_m]Valiant[/name_m] - Although this is a word name, I find it strong and beautiful, I think it just stands out in a good way, and I love the meaning of [name_m]Valiant[/name_m], a fresh and strong new word name
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u] - I find this name beautiful and strong and different, it’s a new nature name that isn’t common and even though some people may not like it, I love it
Someone recently on the siblings forum had a daughter named [name_f]Generosity[/name_f]; I found that so refreshing.
A side character in a movie was named Willowtree, I thought that was cute.
And lately, I have been liking the idea of a [name_f]Solstice[/name_f], nn [name_m]Sol[/name_m] or sully.
Ooh and I just learned the word Apricity- the warmth of the sun on a cold day- and thought that would be gorgeous- nn apri or apricot or happy.
Maybe you could take features from popular names and look at fresher alternatives;
Eg [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
Ect
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] -fresh as!
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amy[/name_f] - I think could be revived and doesn’t feel so dated
[name_f]Bea[/name_f] - just seems sweet
[name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
