Freya & Linnea, is this a no-no?

I love Freya and Linnea but they just so happen to rhyme :smiling_face_with_tear: (for boys I like Sven and probably Niklas/Niko/Klaus)

Do you think Freya and Linnea are not a good idea to name daughters?

(My partner and I are of Norwegian and Finnish origin respectively, which is why we like Nordic names)

It would bother me, I admit, and I probably wouldn’t use them together

It depends on whether you care that much about the rhyming issue. I probably wouldn’t use them though.

You could try to find a nickname if it really bothers you, or go with another prn. For [name_f]Freya[/name_f], I’ve heard FREE-ah and I actually know a FRY-ah. For [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], you could do LINN-ee-uh

I actually don’t mind them together! The beginning sounds are very distinct, and they have different syllable counts. Go for it!

I think it’s completely fine.

I wouldn’t do it myself :grimacing:

I actually like them together :white_heart:

You could always try nicknames that sound different enough, but I truly think that these two names could work in a sibset :sparkles:

I absolutely adore [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] as sisters , and also [name_u]Niko[/name_u] for a brother ! I think they are darling together

I think they are fine. [name_f]My[/name_f] granddaughter’s names both end in the LEY sound, which I didn’t like initially, but now it doesn’t bother me at all. Each name is beautiful and fits each girl perfectly. I can’t imagine each with any other name.

How often will you actually say their names together? The two names match so well stylistically and make great names for sisters. I vote YES.
