I absolutely love the nickname Archie but I hate the name Archibald a lot. Any other suggestions for a full name for Archie?

Although itā€™s shorter in letters and syllables, [name_m]Archie[/name_m] would be a good nn for [name_u]March[/name_u], I think? Unless youā€™d want to go for something unusual like [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] or Archil (& even then) there arenā€™t many options with the built in ā€˜archā€™ sound.

[name_m]Ivo[/name_m] and [name_m]Ivor[/name_m] mean archer. [name_m]Evander[/name_m] is a Scottish variant. [name_m]Beauden[/name_m] and [name_m]Boden[/name_m] contain the bow shape of the archer in their meaning. If youā€™d consider [name_m]Archie[/name_m] as a nn for a name with bow in its meaning then that also gives -

A repeat, but my first thought was [name_u]Archer[/name_u]. I actually know a little [name_u]Archer[/name_u] that goes by [name_m]Archie[/name_m]!

Then I had a second cup of coffee and my brain kicked in a little more, and I think [name_m]Archie[/name_m] could work quite nicely for names containing ā€˜arcā€™.
E.g. [name_m]Barclay[/name_m], [name_m]Marc[/name_m] or [name_m]Marcus[/name_m].

[name_u]Archer[/name_u] & [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] come to mind. Seconding [name_u]Arrow[/name_u].

[name_m]Archibald[/name_m] - meaning ā€œtruly braveā€ is the only way Iā€™d go. :slight_smile:
