Full name for Bertie

We both love the nickname [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] for a girl but we prefer a full name. We have considered [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and I should love it because it ticks a lot of boxes - it’s elegant, has a long history and is a great universal name - but I just don’t like it in my own child for some reason.

We both like [name_f]Bertille[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or even [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] as ways to get to [name_u]Bertie[/name_u].

Not keen on [name_f]Roberta[/name_f], [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] etc.

Would love any other suggestions.

[name_f]Bertille[/name_f] is actually pronounced just like [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] (the sound is minimally different in [name_m]French[/name_m] but in English it’s effectively an -ee sound)! Couldn’t you just spell it that way?

Maybe [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]? [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? Personally I think [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] is gorgeous, I think of Canadian landscape and Italian little girls.

There’s [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] (or [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f]?).
Maybe [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] as well?
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]?

My friends niece is [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] & goes by [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]. It really suits her & I like that she has a more girly nickname if she decided [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] was too boyish when she’s older.

Here’s a little list!

[name_f]Birgit[/name_f]
[name_f]Gertrude[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Bertha[/name_f]
[name_f]Roberta[/name_f]
[name_f]Alberta[/name_f]
[name_f]Berit[/name_f]
[name_f]Berthe[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! I love the nicknames [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]/Birdy/[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]! <3

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]!
