Full name for Evie nn

I love the name [name]Evie[/name] (Eh-vie) but cannot really figure out the best way to spell it to get there pronuciation-wise. I like the name [name]Evelyn[/name], but have a hard time picturing it on a baby for some reason…[name]Just[/name] wondering if any of you have any bright ideas to get to the nn [name]Evie[/name]? [name]TIA[/name]!

I have a friend whose daughter is nicknamed [name]Evie[/name] and she pronounces it like you do. Besides [name]Evelyn[/name], you could also use [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Yvette[/name], [name]Evaline[/name]/[name]Evalina[/name].

My second cousin is [name]Evelyn[/name] with the nickname [name]Evie[/name]. Other names you could use are

[name]Evan[/name] (though I prefer it on a boy)

Ohhh, I love that pronunciation! I have [name]Eve[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Ruby[/name], nn [name]Evey[/name] (said the same way you pronounce it). I don’t think it’s intuitive to use the nn EH-vee for EEV, but [name]Eve[/name] is currently my favorite Ev- name, so that’s what I would use. I think the other [name]Evey[/name]/[name]Evie[/name] names have been mentioned. I really love [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Eva[/name], and [name]Evelina[/name], btw…

Good luck!

[name]Evie[/name] is so cute! [name]Even[/name] like a name, and the first pronunciation that comes to my mind is the one you mention :)…
You could use:

Obiouse names to use [name]Evie[/name]:
[name]Evanna[/name] (like the actress [name]Evanna[/name] [name]Lynch[/name])
[name]Evette[/name] (thougth it`s pronunce like [name]Ivette[/name])
[name]Genevive[/name] or [name]Geneva[/name](I love this name)
[name]Evia[/name] or [name]Eviana[/name]
[name]Neves[/name] or maybe [name]Nieve[/name]

Not so obiouse:
[name]Beverly[/name] (Cringe!!)

Good luck!!

From the ones that you mentioned, I like [name]Evaline[/name] the best. The others just seem too much like trendy spellings of [name]Evelyn[/name].

My personal favourite is [name]Evenie[/name]

I know there is a [name]Berry[/name] (I believe she was French) who named one of her daughters this and I think it’s stunning. It’s a French variation of [name]Yvonne[/name], via [name]Evonne[/name].

There’s also the Welsh variation of [name]Evelyn[/name], Eflyn pronounced EV-lyn. This would probably look a bit weird to non Welsh people and would definitely cause pronunciation problems but just thought I’d throw it out there in case it helps!

sorry garnett–I had to edit some…

What does everyone think about [name]Evlynn[/name] (or [name]Evlyn[/name]) is that too weird? I also kinda like pronuciation Ev-a-line, spelling [name]Evaline[/name], Evalyne, [name]Evelyne[/name]??? Any thoughts on those or other suggestions??? I don’t want too long of a name, 3 syllables at the most as everyone else in our family is two syllable FN and one syllable MN so I’d like to stay as close to that as possible. I actually really love [name]Evie[/name] (Eh-vie) as the FN but DH likes it as a NN to a different FN…

I’m getting so frustrated–can’t seem to find just the right name for this DD#3…

I used to teach an [name]Evie[/name] (said how you want it pronounced) her’s was short for [name]Evangelia[/name] (a family name, Greek). I’ve always really like that. There are plenty of Ev* names to choose from though. [name]How[/name] about:

and some with Ev* in the middle:

My favorite is [name]Evangeline[/name].
