For one, is [name_m]Kitt[/name_m] (yes this spelling) acceptable for a boy?
And second, what are possible full names for the nn [name_m]Kitt[/name_m]?
I’ve heard its been short for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. But that’s all I know.
[name_f]My[/name_f] other thought was using my favorite boys name [name_m]Kavanaugh[/name_m]… but I’m not a huge fan of “ruining” Kav like that.
Any suggestions would be fantastic, thanks!
According to Behind the Name, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is a diminutive for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. Perhaps it would also work for Chester, Christian, Keith, Kingston or Kristof.
I know a male [name_u]Kit[/name_u] (this spelling) who wears it well.
I really like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. [name_m]Kito[/name_m] is another option.
I’ve always thought that [name_u]Kit[/name_u] would work really well for [name_m]Charles[/name_m].
I go to school with a boy called [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and it’s not short for anything (his brother is called [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] if anyone is wondering). I think [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is fine by itself but if you spell it [name_m]Kitt[/name_m] he will always have to say [name_u]Kit[/name_u] with two T’s. I really like the suggestion of [name_u]Kit[/name_u] being short for [name_m]Charles[/name_m] though.
I agree it could be used for [name_m]Keith[/name_m] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and [name_m]Christian[/name_m].
[name_m]Kitt[/name_m] could also be short for:
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]
[name_m]Kent[/name_m]
[name_m]Carlton[/name_m]
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]
[name_m]Cathan[/name_m] (like [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] with a hard c/k sound)
Maybe hunt for names ending in this sound and with the double the if this is important to you eg [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] or something. Though I think it’s nice to just use the ‘nickname’ as the given name and not have it short for anything. Though I think the double t would add unnecessary confusion to a short and sweet name in this case.
