Awhile back we heard a song that refer to a little girl named [name]Libby[/name], we thought it would go great with [name]Sadie[/name] as an old-fashioned nickname, but problem is [name]Libby[/name] seems a bit more nickname-y than [name]Sadie[/name].
Can/should it stand alone?
If not, what is a good full name for [name]Libby[/name]? I do not want to name my daughter, [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Olivia[/name], so this is problematic.
I really about the [name]Johnson[/name] and [name]Johnson[/name] aunt who goes by Libet, but I just hear Tibet?
Also [name]Liberty[/name], but unlesss she’s born a month early on fourth of july, it just seems a little forced.
If you’re really so in love with [name]Libby[/name], go with it as the full name. Especially because your other daughter is [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Libby[/name] would work in your family. [name]Just[/name] make sure you give her a more substantial middle name as a “fallback.”
Alternately, what about one of the [name]Elizabeth[/name] variations? [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Lizabeth[/name] come to mind. Another idea was a Li-first name with a B-middle name so that [name]Libby[/name] is a combined name almost like some go by K.C./[name]Kasey[/name]. Like [name]Lily[/name] [name]Beth[/name] or or Linley [name]Belle[/name].
P.S. I don’t think ‘[name]Liberty[/name]’ is a name tied to a time of year, if you’re bold enough to use it at all.
I agree w/the earlier comment about just going with [name]Libby[/name] as a first name as is. [name]Libby[/name] is a legitimate last name (ie Scooter [name]Libby[/name], [name]Libby[/name] glassware, [name]Libby[/name] foods…). You don’t want to force your child w/an unfortunate place name (Libya) or word name (libido, libertine). I be more concerned with the end rhyming -ee sound of both children’s names.
What about [name]Lilibet[/name] or [name]Lilibeth[/name]?
Or I like the pp suggestion of giving her a first name starting with ‘li’ and a middle name with ‘b’ or maybe a mash-up name like Lilybeth or Alibeth? some ideas… (I think [name]Beth[/name] or [name]Belle[/name] would work best as a middle name, but you could use whatever ‘b’ name you wanted…)
