Full name for Lindy

I came across the naem [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] on tv yesterday, adn I really like. It just seems like too much of a nickname though.

Can you please think of some usable full names for it?

We were thinking about [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] or [name_f]Linda[/name_f], but we only slightly like [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] out of those.

And what is your opinion on [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]?

I have recently became fond of the name Adalind  You could also go with Noralind, Coralinda, Marilynd, Tessalind, Jessalind, Annalind, Hannalind or just think of sounds… like you can substitute [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] for [name_u]Lind[/name_u]. Good luck!

[name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is cute as a nn. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to get [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] from [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] (I know a [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] nn Locky!) and [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] is a lovely name! As she gets older, if she (or you!) decide [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is too cutesy you could always use [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] too!

Ohhh! What about [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]. That would be so sweet

I know a girl named Lindianne so there’s an option. From the above suggested names I have to second [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lindy[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Linden[/name_u]? It is generally masculine but I’ve seen others mention it for a girl…

Maybe it’s too much of a stretch, but I first thought of [name_f]Phyllida[/name_f], nn [name_f]Lindy[/name_f].

What do you think?

Lindley, [name_u]Lindsey[/name_u]?

hmmmm [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would be [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. Although the pronunciation is a bit difficult for little kids.

[name_f]Melinda[/name_f] is nice and has gotten a boost from “ghost whisperer”

Adalind is also nice, but I foresee a lot of people saying [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] by mistake and automatism

[name_u]Linden[/name_u] is a boys name, so I wouldn’t use that

[name_u]Lindsey[/name_u] has lost its shine

[name_f]Linda[/name_f] is a tad too “middle-aged”

[name_f]Lindy[/name_f] on its own would work well I guess

[name_u]Lindsey[/name_u]? I love the idea of [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]…

[name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is a nn that I adore!
I would use either Adalind, [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_u]Linden[/name_u]!

[name_f]Malinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Kalinda[/name_f]
Lindra
Lindine

I love [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] too - it almost makes me like [name_f]Linda[/name_f]/[name_f]Linde[/name_f].

I like the suggest of Adalind, [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is pretty too (but I can’t stand the roz-lind pn). But I think I just like [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] on it’s own. So pretty.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Linda[/name_f], but how about [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]?

I have family members named [name_f]Selinde[/name_f]–very pretty. I love [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], as well.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestions of [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_u]Linden[/name_u] (type of tree and I know a girl and boy named [name_u]Linden[/name_u] – definitely unisex to me). There is also [name_f]Clarinda[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] has the potential to stand on it’s own.

Another thought is to go with something like [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] (totally off the top of my head there) which makes the nickname [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] pretty intuitive for me ([name_f]Lin[/name_f] D. = [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]). Or if your last name starts with a D. That said, [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] or [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] names without a D somewhere seems like a stretch.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] are great with the nickname [name_f]Lindy[/name_f].

But I’d personally use [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], since [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]'s pronunciation can be tricky
