Full Name for Lola

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]The[/name_m] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] had been so near and dear to my heart for probably close to 15 years now—I’m such a big fan but I’ve always struggled with finding a full name that feels right. [name_f][/name_f] For a while now I’ve been sitting on Eleanor [name_f]La[/name_f]erke [name_f]Grace[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but it feels so ridiculously contrived that I’m wondering if I should find something else. [name_f][/name_f] Went through some names this afternoon and found these—would love to know your thoughts on which ones feel most usable for the nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], or which you like best in general? [name_f][/name_f] If any feel too contrived, I’m happy to hear that too. [name_f][/name_f] If you had to use a full name for [name_f]Lola[/name_f], what would you use?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Fiorella[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Florentine[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lovella[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Nolwenn[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Olwen[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Viola[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you!

I think all work beautifully except [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], Floretine, [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Carolina[/name_f]. I can see the path to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] with these, but it doesn’t feel as seamless.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f], [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] :bouquet:

[name_m]You[/name_m] have some great options here! I think these work particularly well:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Philomena[/name_f] → [name_f]Philomela[/name_f] may be another one to consider!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Viola[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

Probably [name_f]Fabiola[/name_f] “Lola”[name_f][/name_f] or [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] “Lola”[name_f][/name_f].

I know this doesn’t answer your question but [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is familiar enough on its own, and is a legitimate name. Having a given name that isn’t used can be a hassle so I would go straight to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]!

I think all could work for [name_f]Lola[/name_f], and my personal faves from your list are:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Florentine[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marigold[/name_f] (perhaps a bit too stretchy?)
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Viola[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

For [name_f]Lola[/name_f], I’d be tempted by:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Apolline[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Leonie[/name_f] or [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Romola[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! I know it can be seen as just a little kid/baby name on its own, but I know a [name_f]Lola[/name_f] in college and one recent grad, and they both wear it very well.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Other[/name_m] ideas…
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Louella[/name_f] (stretchy because [name_f]Louella[/name_f] has an oo[name_f][/name_f] sound, not oh?)
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Louise[/name_f] / Louisa… maybe?
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- also goes to [name_f]Lila[/name_f]! I like this one!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Alora[/name_f] / [name_f]Aloura[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Hollis[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

I love [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Lovella[/name_f], and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] already suggested! :purple_heart:

I love combining names to get to nicknames, so I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Laerke[/name_f] is great, but I can understand why it may seem a bit contrived. I also think most of your names work really well, but [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are the only ones that feel a bit pretty stretchy.

[name_f][/name_f]

A few more suggestions:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Eilonwy[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Enola[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lowenna[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lilouenn[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Novella[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Odella[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]Olwenna
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Violaine[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Willodean[/name_f]

[name_f]Willodean[/name_f] is great for [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! [name_f]Willadean[/name_f] was my NOTD yesterday so I’m not sure how I didn’t think of it here!

[name_f][/name_f]Personally, I would use [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts on full names for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] (so cute!) are usually…

[name_f]Eloisa[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

I’ve never thought of [name_f]Salome[/name_f] & find it a bit stretchy, but love love [name_f]Salome[/name_f] in general.

This question is near and dear to me because I have a [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] whose exclusive nickname she goes by 75% of the time is [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! Whenever it comes up that [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is short for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] most people just blink at me real slow and then move on without a word lol

[name_f][/name_f]

I considered that to be such a smashing success that I went even more contrived for baby girl number 2! [name_m]Her[/name_m] name is [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] but we call her [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. It’s so non intuitive that people do comment and it’s usually just a mild “how’d you get [name_f]Annie[/name_f] from Linnea?” Without any meanness behind it, they are just curious. I just smile and shrug and everyone just moves on.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]So[/name_f] from very personal experience, my advice would be to go with the names you love! [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Laerke[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and just smile and shrug and your heart will be happy

I went to high school with a [name_f]Lola[/name_f] whose full name was [name_f]Lois[/name_f]! (Her twin sister was [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. I love their names.)

[name_f][/name_f]

If I was using [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname, I’d go for full name [name_f]Louisa[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f][name_f][/name_f]. :pink_heart:

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]Summary[name_f][/name_f]

@EdgeOfTheMeadow[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Oh[/name_m], surprising you find [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] more straightforward than [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] I feel like the sound is there for [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f] more than it is for [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], but I see your point with the obvious “lo” in [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I’m leaning away from [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] as a full name for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] at this point, but it has reminded me how lovely she is!

[name_f][/name_f]

@Greyblue[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- wish I could love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] because they make so much sense! [name_f][/name_f] I can’t see me with an [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] though and I named one of my precious cars [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and she was just ridiculously awful. [name_f][/name_f] :joy::joy::joy:[name_f][/name_f] [name_f]She[/name_f] 100% destroyed [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] for me! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Alodia[/name_f] is interesting but too reminiscent of [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] for now :joy:[name_f][/name_f]. I think I’ve decided I prefer [name_f]Philou[/name_f] for a nn for [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], but I am really liking [name_f]Lovella[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Salome[/name_f], and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] especially!

[name_f][/name_f]

@Demoiselle[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- :sob::sob:[name_f][/name_f] I wish I could love [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]!

[name_f][/name_f]

@WhiteGardenia[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I agree 100%, in general, but she just seems to be so different from the other, more elaborate names on my list—for me she just seems better suited as a nn, but in theory I agree with you hahaha.

[name_f][/name_f]

@katinka[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- thanks lady! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f] is drawing my heart like crazy right now… [name_f]Viola[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] seems so ridiculously fun and elegant! [name_f][/name_f] Twelfth [name_f]Night[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] is my favorite Shakespearean play and I adore Viola; she magically clicked recently and I’m trying to convince myself to pump the breaks lol. [name_f][/name_f] I’ve had [name_f]Violet[/name_f] on my list for almost 20 years… I can’t envision removing my beloved [name_f]Violet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] in favor of [name_f]Viola[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but I might take a page from my Adele/Adelaide book and do the same for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Viola[/name_f] :joy::joy:[name_f][/name_f]. I didn’t even consider[name_f][/name_f] Leona/Leonie/Leonora! [name_f][/name_f] I’ve loved [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] for probably close to a decade now; I just assumed I’d use [name_f]Leni[/name_f] if I used her, but [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is so fun! [name_f][/name_f] I’ll have to consider her (and I suppose decide if I would be more willing to do [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Viola[/name_f] more :joy::joy:

[name_f][/name_f]

@zoedandelion[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- thanks lady :heart:[name_f][/name_f]. I WISH I loved [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] because I agree she would be perfect for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Lila[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Or[/name_m] even [name_m]Rory[/name_m], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], or any other number of nns lol. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]She[/name_f] just feels too [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls for me? [name_f][/name_f] I can’t separate her from [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

@MichelleM[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- thanks lady! [name_f][/name_f] 100% fair, I do think some make more sense than others. [name_f][/name_f] I can’t really see me with a [name_f]Salome[/name_f], so I think it’s off the table for now but I might consider it elsewhere as a middle. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure why I haven’t seriously considered her before this! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]In[/name_f] theory I love [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], it reminds me so much of my beloved [name_m]Brazil[/name_m] since [name_f]Heloisa[/name_f] is so popular there, but I can’t really see me with an [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] for some reason? [name_f][/name_f] Maybe I’ll need to consider the related [name_f]Aloisa[/name_f] though!

[name_f][/name_f]

@Ehrob1[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- yessssss girl! [name_f][/name_f] I’m becoming obsessed with [name_f]Viola[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]!

[name_f][/name_f]

@atomicginge[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I love [name_f]Sloane[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] And didn’t even consider her, not sure why. [name_f][/name_f] I don’t think I would use her as a fn though; I prefer to use androgynous/gender neutral names as middles rather than firsts.

[name_f][/name_f]

@mrsdrs[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- thank you, lovely! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]The[/name_m] vote of confidence is reassuring. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] feel like they belong together, but I’ve also been really liking [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Leni[/name_f] lately too, which is also why I’ve been thinking of giving [name_f]Lola[/name_f] her own name! [name_f][/name_f] I’m becoming very fond of [name_f]Viola[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], and I do like that with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Viola[/name_f] I could use both [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] I’m going to let it ruminate for a little, but [name_f]Viola[/name_f] really is getting imbedded in my heart. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] are super fun, btw! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]You[/name_m] have beautiful taste :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
