I adore Maggie as nickname, but I have not warmed up to Margaret, etc. What full name for Maggie would you recommend? Could I use Megan as the official name and Maggie as a nickname?
[name_f]Megan[/name_f] would work. I also love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and Magdalena/Magdalene
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite option for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is to use it as a standalone! But besides @Kipperbo1’s suggestions, I also like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] as possible full name ideas.
[name_f]My[/name_f] aunt, who was named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] after her mother and grandmother, legally changed her name to [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. That’s all I’ve ever known her as.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] also with a nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. Our baby coming in [name_u]August[/name_u] will be named [name_f]Magali[/name_f], and we may call her [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] sometimes.
I second the suggestion of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], then maybe even [name_f]Magda[/name_f] or maybe more of a stretch [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Megara[/name_f] & [name_f]Morgana[/name_f]?
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Magenta[/name_f]
[name_f]Mags[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Megan[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] would be a stretch. I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] can stand alone if that’s what you want to call her.
I know a Magalene.
I think any name with both an M and G sound would work.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are probably going to be the two most assumed full names.
To add to all the above suggestions, I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] also works.
Nicknames standing alone as a full name is also much more common and acceptable now and I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] sounds great on its own
Marguerite
Marigold
Marita
Margite / Margita
Marjean / Marjene / Margene
Margette / Marjette / Margetta
Megara / Megaera
Oh also thought [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would work. Technically same amount of syllables and letters but [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] puts an extra funky spin and another option to go by.
[name_f]Megan[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is a stretch honestly
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
There is [name_f]Magan[/name_f] also where [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] might make more sense.
I knew a [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] who went by [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]! It was new, fresh, and so so sweet!
I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] so much and also don’t love [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I have thought of
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Megan[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
Magnessa
Maegara
For [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] I like:
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Megan[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could work. Maybe [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Megan[/name_f] could work.
Margarida (?)
I love the all the other posters suggestions, but I honestly think Maggie would work as full name by itself.
