Full Name for Maggie?

My partner and I both like the name Maggie. However, she likes it as is, and I like it as a nickname for something longer. I personally don’t like nicknames as stand alone names - it’s just not my style - and as much as my partner likes Maggie on it’s own, she’d be willing to use a full name for it if we found something we both loved.

Contenders for a full name are:
Margaret - Don’t love, feels like we’re just using it for the nickname
Magnolia - On my favorites list, but my partner says it’s not her style and she can only think of Joanna Gaines’ target collection lol
Magdalen - Love the name, but the religious association isn’t for us

Others we’ve thought of are Margot and Marigold, but I’m not sure that Maggie fits as a nickname for those.

Thoughts on the name Maggie on it’s own? And/or what full names do you like? Open to other suggestions as well!

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] are my favourite ways to get [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], it’s clear to see where the nickname has come from and not a stretch at all.
I do think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] can stand alone, but I also prefer long names with nicknames, so personally would go for [name_f]Marigold[/name_f].

Perhaps, if none of the ‘mag’ names are landing you could go for a name like [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] where the nickname comes from a bit of a combination of first and middle name. But this can feel a bit more of a stretch and might need explaining to others.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. To be honest any name with that Ma at the beginning would work!

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] definitely works by itself. I also love it as a nickname for [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and like it for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and it makes total sense for both of them.

I think you could use [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] with [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] easily! I quite like that.

How about [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]?

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] makes sense to me - and aside from [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], is my fave option on your list

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] on its own is great too - bright, sweet and solid too. Maybe with a longer, more classic middle, like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

Some other full names for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] could be…

[name_u]Madigan[/name_u]
[name_f]Merrigan[/name_f]
[name_f]Morrigan[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]

I’m with you on [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] being a nickname and not a full name. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are my favourites. Names I haven’t seen mentioned:

[name_f]Magda[/name_f]
[name_f]Magali[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdala[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnhild[/name_f]

I second the idea of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]!

my favourites are [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] & [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] :fr:

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] with nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] would be my pick.

I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] can definitely stand on its own, but having a full name can also give a kid more options as they get older. I love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] as a full name!
Some other ideas are [name_u]Maguire[/name_u] or [name_f]Megan[/name_f].

I know a [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. Works and is cute!

[name_f]My[/name_f] absolute favourite is the [name_u]French[/name_u] [name_f]Magali[/name_f]. Also like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f].
