I love [name_f]Mina[/name_f], but I wonder if its to informal for a full name. Some formal options that I like are listed below, could you please tell me your opnion on them or if I should just choose [name_f]Mina[/name_f] instead?
I love the name [name_f]Mina[/name_f], and I don’t find it too informal. It’s quite commonly used as a full name in [name_f]India[/name_f] (alternate spelling [name_f]Meena[/name_f]), where is can also be a nickname for Meenakshi (the name of a Hindu goddess).
I also like [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] if you want a long version of the name, but I absolutely think [name_f]Mina[/name_f] can stand alone!
I love [name_f]Mina[/name_f]. I like the idea of [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]. I like the idea of [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] too, but changing the vowel would bother me.
In addition to [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], there’s [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] or [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f].
[name_f]Minta[/name_f] is another thought; on its own, or short for [name_f]Aminta[/name_f]/[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]. I suppose you could use [name_f]Mina[/name_f] for those too.
It absolutely can hold it’s spot on space one. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] can, [name_f]Mila[/name_f] can, def. [name_f]Mina[/name_f] can. BUT other suggestions…
(I love [name_f]Minerva[/name_f])
[name_f]Minuet[/name_f], [name_f]Yasmina[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Mina[/name_f] as a standalone over the two longer names you listed. I’m not a fan of either of the long names. I do however [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Melina[/name_f] ("[name_u]Mel[/name_u]-eena") which could be a long form. I also like [name_f]Marina[/name_f] as another option.
Overall, I prefer [name_f]Nina[/name_f] to [name_f]Mina[/name_f] if you’re just going with the short form. But [name_f]Mina[/name_f] is definitely beautiful don’t get me wrong…
My favorite ways to get to [name_f]Mina[/name_f] are [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Yasmina[/name_f] (or even [name_f]Amina[/name_f]?), but [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] are nice. I think [name_f]Mina[/name_f] works fine on its own, but I do prefer it as a nn for something fuller.
I prefer just [name_f]Mina[/name_f]! [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] always reminds me of Dracula and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] is too ancient (I may have a distant ancestor with the name [name_f]Filomena[/name_f]… probably from Portugal) even though vintage names are in vogue.
I love [name_f]Mina[/name_f]! I don’t think it’s informal at all. I don’t like any of the longer names that could be shortened to [name_f]Mina[/name_f] at all.
